Farmers' unity will be 'final nail in BJP's coffin': Rajasthan Cong chief

Rajasthan Congress chief Govind Singh Dotasra launched a scathing attack on the BJP during a farmers' meeting in Bikaner, asserting that the unity of farmers will be the "final nail in the BJP's coffin". The farmers' meeting was organised by the party in Sridungargarh. "Every farmers' meeting across the country is now a wake-up call for Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah. The unity of farmers will be the final nail in the BJP's coffin," he said. "The BJP came to power by deceiving the people and has failed to deliver on a single promise made to them. Farmers have been among the most neglected people under the BJP rule," Dotasra said. He also targeted Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma and questioned the performance of his government. "The chief minister is travelling to Japan and South Korea but he cannot resolve the issue of waiving farmers' loans. The people voted for the BJP to form a government, but it has turned into a circus," Dotasra ...

Attacking Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi over the statements he made in the US about the condition of Sikhs in India, Union minister Ravneet Singh Bittu on Sunday said that if those "manufacturing bombs" were supporting him, he is the "number one terrorist". Bittu, the MoS for railways, made the remark in Bihar's Bhagalpur where he came to attend the flagging-off ceremony of a Vande Bharat Express train to Howrah. Condemning the statement, the Congress said he was talking "like a senseless man". Speaking to reporters, Bittu said, "Rahul Gandhi spent most of his time outside the country. His friends and family are there. I think he does not love his country much because he goes abroad and says negative things about India. I think he is not a Hindustani." "Now, he has got support from separatists, who always talk about dividing this country. They (separatists) and the most-wanted persons are also appreciating Rahul Gandhi for his remarks against Sikhs. When such people, who are al

The PDP chief said her party is not contesting the elections only for constructing drains and lanes, "we are contesting because the BJP wants to bury Kashmir issue and Article 370, and wants everyone to talk only about election". Cong slams PM on J'khand visit, says depriving tribals religious identity

With Prime Minister Narendra Modi visiting Jharkhand, the Congress on Sunday asked why are the people of Jamshedpur still facing the problem of "poor connectivity" and also accused the PM of depriving the tribals their religious identity and refusing to recognise the Sarna Code. Congress general secretary in-charge communications Jairam Ramesh also asked why the Adityapur Industrial Area had not received environmental clearance yet. "The non-biological PM is in Jamshedpur, Jharkhand today. He should answer these three questions to the people of Jharkhand," Ramesh said in a post in Hindi on X. Why are the people of Jamshedpur still facing the problem of poor connectivity, he asked. Ramesh said that despite being an industrial hub, Jamshedpur is facing the problem of poor transport connectivity. "The number of trains running to major cities like Bhagalpur, Bengaluru and Delhi is not sufficient. The city had a functional airport till 2016 but despite joining the UDAN scheme in 2018,

BJP leadership to decide Khadse's reinduction after festival: Fadnavis

Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Saturday said a decision on reinducting NCP (SP) leader Eknath Khadse into the BJP will be taken by the party's central leadership after the ongoing Ganesh festival. He also said that farmers will hugely benefit from the Centre's decision to increase the customs duty on crude and refined sunflower and soybean oils. Talking to reporters at the Nagpur airport while answering a query on Khadse's possible return to the Bharatiya Janata Party, Fadnavis said, "Whatever decision the BJP's central leadership takes will be accepted. We will hold talks with the party leadership and a decision will be made after the ongoing Ganesh festival." Speculation about Khadse, a former BJP leader currently with the Sharad Pawar-led NCP, returning to the saffron party intensified after the BJP renominated his daughter-in-law Raksha Khadse as Lok Sabha candidate, and made her a Union Minister of State after she won. But there has been no ...

MP CM Yadav seeks apology from Congress over money-for-posting allegation

Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav on Saturday demanded an apology from the Congress over party leader Jitu Patwari's allegation about officials paying the BJP government money for favourable postings. At a public meeting of the Congress's "Kisan Nyay Yatra" on Friday, state Congress chief Patwari alleged that the collector of Hoshangabad (Narmadapuram) had paid money to buy the post. "I would like to tell journalists that there should be an honest sting operation on the collector of Hoshangabad (Narmadapuram). He will reveal how much money he spent to buy the post. The superintendent of police, tehsildar, patwari, SDM, and in-charge of police stations, not a single officer or employee gets a police station or posting (without offering money). This is the BJP government's reality," he claimed. Reacting to Patwari's remarks, the chief minister said the language used by Congress leaders for officers and employees of the Narmadapuram district was insulting. "The state governmen

SC bail for Kejriwal a relief, tells BJP govt to end dictatorship: AAP

AAP on Friday demanded that the BJP should apologise to the country for keeping a "staunchly honest" leader like Arvind Kejriwal in jail, and said the Supreme Court order granting him bail in the excise policy case has exposed the BJP's "lies". At a joint press conference here, senior AAP leader and former deputy chief minister Manish Sisodia said the Supreme Court order granting bail to Kejriwal was a moment of "big relief" for the party and its leaders and workers. "It is not just the issue of bail granted to Kejriwal. The court has also given a big message to the BJP-led Centre to stop its dictatorship," he said. He said the top court order is important not just for AAP but also as an assurance that if anyone resorted to "dictatorship", the Supreme Court would ensure the dominance of the Constitution. The BJP was using the agencies to keep Kejriwal in jail, Sisodia alleged, adding that the CBI deliberately arrested Kejriwal to keep him in prison. "The BJP intended to keep Kejri
