Bomb scare in Aligarh: Suspects at large, AMU authorities roped in

Six days after a bomb scare at Aligarh Junction Railway Station, local police continue their search for the alleged suspects. Authorities sprang into action on the evening of November 7, the day Railway Police Force (RPF) was alerted to the possible threat. The police swiftly conducted security measures at the station to prevent any mishap. In an effort to trace the culprits, the police sought assistance from the Aligarh Muslim University (AMU). AMU authorities, led by Proctor Mohamad Waseem Ali, have been working alongside the police, using CCTV footage to identify the suspects. Ali spoke to reporters on Tuesday, stating that despite their efforts, the suspects have not yet been identified. "We have not yet found anyone matching the descriptions from the footage. Bomb scare at Delhi museums, health institutes; nothing suspicious found

Several museums, including the National Museum and Rail Museum, and two mental health institutes -- IHBAS (Institute of Human Behaviour and Allied Sciences) and VIMHANS (Vidyasagar Institute of Mental Health, Neuro and Allied Sciences) -- have received bomb threat e-mails, officials said on Wednesday. The officials said that nothing suspicious was found in the searches and later the calls were declared hoax. The e-mails were received by the National Museum in Kartavya Path, Rail Museum in Chanakyapuri and Gandhi Museum in Daryaganj and several others stating that the bomb was planted in their premises, they said. Two medical facilities -- IHBAS located in Shahdara and Vimhans Hospital in Lajpat Nagar -- have also received the threat e-mails containing the same contents, the officials said. Delhi Police arrests man for making threat call to blow up IGI airport

A 38-year-old man was arrested Saturday for allegedly making a threat call to blow up the Indira Gandhi International (IGI) Airport here on January 28, police said. Krishno Mahto, who hails from Bihar's West Champaran, was arrested in Delhi's Kapashera, they said. Deputy Commissioner of Police (IGI Airport) Usha Rangnani said during an interrogation, Mahto confessed to making the bomb threat call. On January 28, he was heavily inebriated when he made the call from a mobile phone and threatened to blow up IGI airport, Rangnani said. He was arrested following a long chase as he had switched off his mobile phone after making the call. A police team also visited his native place in Bihar as the mobile phone number was registered at his home address.

Bomb explosion kills 6 Pak policemen going to escort polio vaccination team

A bomb explosion targeted policemen going to provide security for polio vaccination workers in Pakistan's restive Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province on Monday, killing six of them and injuring 22 others. UP Special Task Force arrests two for bomb threat to Ram temple, CM Yogi

Two people were arrested on Wednesday for a social media post which threatened to bomb Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and blow up Ayodhya's Ram temple in a blast, officials said. A team of Uttar Pradesh's Special Task Force arrested Tahar Singh and Omprakash Mishra from Vibhuti Khand area of Gomti Nagar in Lucknow, according to a statement. The two had threatened Adityanath, STF chief Amitabh Yash and Ayodhya's Ram temple in a post on X' in November using the handle @iDevendraOffice', the statement said. Investigation initially revealed that email IDs alamansarikhan608@gmail.com' and zubairkhanisi199@gmail.com' were used to send the threat posts, it said. After technical analysis of the email IDs, it was found that Tahar Singh created the email accounts and Omprakash Mishra sent the threat messages, it added. Singh and Mishra are both residents of Gonda and work in a paramedical institute, the statement said. The STF is probing the matter further, it added.

A bomb disposal squad was rushed to the spot after a live bomb was found a few hundred metres away from the helipad used by Punjab and Haryana chief ministers here on Monday, police said. The shell was found in the fields on the Nayagaon-Kansal road, which is about one kilometre away from the helipad and about two kilometres from the official residences of Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann and his Haryana counterpart Manohar Lal Khattar, they said. An official of the disaster management department who reached the spot told reporters that the police control room received a message that a bomb-like object had been seen near the Kansal and Nayagaon T-point. "When we checked it and found that it was a live shell," he said, adding the area has been sealed. "It is a matter of investigation how this shell reached the spot," the official said.
