Consumer electronics major Samsung is planning to install around 20 LED cinema screens named 'Onyx' in the country by the end of next year, a company executive said Wednesday. The firm had launched its first such screen in August at PVR in New Delhi, and unveiled its second screen here Wednesday, in partnership with Inox. It is looking to open two more such screens in the country by the end of 2018, according to Samsung India vice-president consumer electronics enterprise business Puneet Sethi. "We have 26 'Onyx' screens globally. The investment per screen for the exhibitor is around USD 500,000-700,000 for the entire solution," Sethi told PTI. He said the company will have around 20 such screens in the country by the end of 2019. Wind turbine maker Senvion said Wednesday it has signed a conditional 300 MW contract with alfanar to supply and install 131 Senvion 2.3 M130 turbines for the Bhuj Wind Project. The wind project in Gujarat is part of the Round 5 bidding of Solar Energy Corporation of India Limited a company of the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy, Government of India, a company statement said. The Union Cabinet is expected to approve Thursday a policy to boost exports of agriculture commodities such as tea, coffee and rice and increase the country's share in global agri trade, an official said. The Commerce Ministry has sent the final agri export policy to the Cabinet. The proposed policy would focus on all aspects of agricultural exports including modernising infrastructure, standardisation of products, streamlining regulations, curtailing knee-jerk decisions, and focusing on research and development activities. "The government will aim at a stable export policy for agricultural products. There will be an assurance that processed agri items and organic products will not be brought under the ambit of any kind of export restrictions such as imposition of minimum import price, export duty, export bans and quota restrictions," the official said. The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) Wednesday issued draft guidelines on non-residents' participation in the interest rate derivative (IRD) market. The draft norms have proposed non-resident Indians' (NRIs) access to the IRD market, allowing them to hedge their rupee interest rate risk flexibly using any available IRD instrument, RBI said in a release. "Non-residents will also be permitted to participate specifically in the overnight indexed swap (OIS) market for purposes other than hedging," it said. The central bank has sought comments on the draft guidelines from banks, market participants and other interested parties by December 31. In its April 2018 policy, the RBI had proposed that NRIs should be given access to the rupee IRD market. The apex bank had said while rupee interest rate swap (IRS) market is the most liquid among interest rate derivative markets, it still lacks depth to enable large banks to manage risks. Online travel firm MakeMyTrip Wednesday said it continues to offer hotels in Ahmedabad and is in talks with some of its hotel partners who have stopped taking bookings from its platforms. Around 270 hoteliers in Ahmedabad have stopped accepting bookings from MakeMyTrip and Goibibo travel portals, alleging heavy commission and indiscriminate discounts offered by them. According to Hotels and Restaurants Association (HRA) - Gujarat spokesperson Abhijeet Deshmukh, hotels in other cities in the state may also follow suit in the coming days. The government held 57.99 per cent in REC, and 65.64 per cent in PFC at September-end. However, government holding in REC has come down to 52.63 per cent following stake sale through ETF. "The proposal is PFC will acquire 52.63 per cent government stake in REC, along with transfer of management control. A final call will be taken by (the) Cabinet on Thursday," a source said. At the current market price of Rs 105.10 a share, sale of 52.63 per cent government holding in REC will fetch around Rs 11,000 crore. The government will retain controlling premium and hence the deal value is coming at Rs 15,000 crore, the source said. The government was initially considering to sell PFC to REC, however, on Wednesday the power ministry proposed PFC buying 52.63 per cent government stake in REC.
