Tech firm AXISCADES Friday said it has set up its first Digital-Centre of Excellence (DCoE) in Pune that will showcase some of its solutions in the new-age technology areas like Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT), augmented reality and artificial intelligence. The DCoE will house some of the key technology stacks that the company has been investing on, including IIoT, AR, AI/Machine Learning, Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) and Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES), a statement said. The company, however, did not disclose the investment details. "The centre will focus on building cutting-edge applications for shop floor digitisation and intend to bring business value to their customers through their strategic alliances with companies like Altizon, Siemens Mindsphere, and Dassault Systemes," it added. Budget carrier SpiceJet Friday launched a daily direct flight service to Hong Kong from New Delhi, seeking to tap the growing business and leisure travel demand, besides eyeing the Indian students community there. Following the introduction of the new service, SpiceJet offers over 2,500 seats per week on the Delhi-Hong Kong-Delhi route, which will be serviced by the latest 189-seater Boeing 737 Max plane, the airline said in a release. With this, SpiceJet has become the only domestic budget carrier operating a direct flight on the route, it added. "We are delighted to launch our direct flight on the Delhi-Hong Kong route. We see tremendous potential in this sector. State-owned Oil India Ltd will buy back 5.04 crore of its shares for a little over Rs 1,085 crore as part of the government's push to cash-rich PSUs to part with their surplus either by paying higher dividends or through share buybacks so as to help meet revenue targets. In a regulatory filing, OIL said its board has approved buyback of shares at an aggregate of no more than 10 per cent of the fully paid-up equity share capital and free reserves of the company. The board approved "the buyback by the company of its fully paid-up equity shares of Rs 10 each not exceeding 5.05 crore equity shares (representing about 4.45 per cent of the total number of equity shares in the paid-up share capital of the company) at a price of Rs 215 per equity share payable in cash for an aggregate consideration not exceeding Rs 1085.72 crore," it said. Technology firm Continental has added two new production lines at its Gurgaon plant to assemble anti-lock braking system (ABS) and electronic stability control (ESC), a company statement said. This capacity increase is to address the market requirements stemming from government legislations for ABS entry in April 2019 for passenger cars and two-wheelers, Continental said. The company said it has been steadily investing in India to localise ABS/ESC.
