On track to achieve 400,000 vehicle exports in FY26: Maruti Suzuki

Maruti Suzuki India is on track to export over 4 lakh vehicles this fiscal year, having already shipped more than two lakh units in the April-September period, according to a senior company executive. The country's largest carmaker has reported a 52 per cent year-on-year growth in exports to 42,204 units in September, compared to 27,728 units in the same month of the previous year. "In Q1, we exported about 1.10 lakh units, and in the first half (April-September), we have done over 2.07 lakh units. So, we are on track to achieve the 4 lakh unit forecast that we have given," Maruti Suzuki India Senior Executive Officer (Corporate Affairs) Rahul Bharti stated. He noted that the company's exports are more than double those of the nearest domestic competitor. "Normally, we talk about cutthroat competition. Maruti Suzuki looks to enhance exports with upcoming new Dzire sedan

Maruti Suzuki India is targeting markets like UAE, Saudi Arabia, Chile, Mexico and other Latin American countries with its upcoming new version of compact sedan Dzire to accelerate exports as it eyes over 3 lakh units of overseas shipments this fiscal, a senior company official said on Wednesday. In the domestic market, the company hopes to enhance its share in the sedan market amid the passenger vehicles market shifting towards SUVs (Sports Utility Vehicles), with the new Dzire which is slated for launch next week. "We have been growing (exports) at a rate of about 11.9 per cent in the first seven months of the financial year and we hope to continue on that momentum. Maruti Suzuki eyes significant increase in exports by 2030: MD, CEO

Maruti Suzuki India (MSI) is looking at a significant increase in its overseas shipments by 2030, MD and CEO Hisashi Takeuchi said on Tuesday. Speaking at the 64th annual session of industry body SIAM here, he noted that the automaker's overseas shipments will witness "multiples of growth" in coming years. "There is no reason why India should not target a big pie of global trade. As Maruti Suzuki, I can tell you we are not talking about percentage growth but in terms of multiples of growth. So, our exports from India today are three times of what we had four years ago. Not only that, our exports will be 3 times of today in about 6 years from today," Takeuchi said. The company is already exporting some vehicles back to Japan, he said. Last month Maruti Suzuki commenced export of its sports utility vehicle Fronx to Japan. Made-In-India Honda Elevate ready to run on Japanese road next year

Japanese auto major Honda is all set to introduce its India-made mid-sized SUV Elevate in the Japanese market next year. It would be the first instance that a product manufactured by Honda Cars India Ltd (HCIL), a wholly-owned unit of the Japanese firm, will be exported to the highly regulated Japanese market. HCIL is rolling out Elevate from its Tapukara (Rajasthan-based) production facility. Skoda Auto Volkswagen India Pvt Ltd (SAVWIPL) on Thursday said export of its cars produced at the company's Chakan facility in Pune has crossed 600,000 units mark. SAVWIPL is the Indian subsidiary of German automotive manufacturing giant Volkswagen Group. India to become export hub for Skoda Auto from next year, says co official

Czech car maker Skoda Auto has said India will become an export hub for the company as it is set to commence exports of vehicle kits for assembly in Vietnam from next year. The company, which posted a whopping 125 per cent year-on-year surge in its vehicle sales at 53,721 units in 2022, also sounded hopeful of growing into double-digit this year as well. Similarly, Volkswagen Group sales grew 85.48 per cent year-on-year at 1,01,270 units in the previous calendar year. Maruti Suzuki India crosses 2.5 mn units milestone of cumulative exports

Automaker Maruti Suzuki India Ltd on Wednesday said it has crossed the 25 lakh units milestone of cumulative exports since starting overseas shipments in 1986-87. The company, which started exports with shipments to neighbouring markets like Bangladesh and Nepal in 1986-87, said it currently exports to nearly 100 countries, including markets in Africa, Latin America, Asia, and the Middle East.
