The state government told a bench of justices Bela M Trivedi and Pankaj Mithal that Naidu's family members have made statements publicly that they would take action against the officers when they come to power. SC dismisses AP govt's plea against anticipatory bail to TDP chief Naidu

The Supreme Court on Monday dismissed a plea of the Andhra Pradesh government challenging the anticipatory bail granted to TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu in the Amaravati Inner Ring Road scam case. A bench of Justices Sanjiv Khana and Dipankar Datta dismissed the plea of the state government in which it has challenged the high court order of January 10 giving relief to Naidu. The bench noted that an appeal in the case arising from the same FIR involving other accused, was already dismissed by the court last year. It said in view of the earlier order passed by this court, the bench is not inclined to entertain the appeal of the state government. The Inner Ring Road scam case pertains to manipulating the master plan of Amaravati capital city, alignment of Inner Ring Road and the seed capital to allegedly offer undue enrichment to several companies during Naidu's tenure as chief minister.

Skill Development case: SC to deliver verdict on Naidu's plea on Jan 16

The Supreme Court is scheduled to deliver on January 16 its verdict on former Andhra Pradesh chief minister and TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu's plea challenging the high court order refusing to quash the FIR against him in the Skill Development Corporation scam case. The Supreme Court on Tuesday sought a response from TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu on a plea by the Andhra Pradesh government against a high court order granting regular bail to him in the skill development corporation scam case. A bench of justices Bela M Trivedi and SC Sharma issued notice to Naidu and directed that he will not participate in public rallies and meetings till December 8, which is the next date of hearing. The Supreme Court on Thursday adjourned to November 30 the hearing on TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu's plea seeking anticipatory bail in the FibreNet case. A team of Andhra Pradesh Police CID officials on Saturday began interrogation of TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu in the Skill Development Corporation scam case on Saturday at the central prison here. On Friday, the ACB Court in Vijayawada granted two days' police custody of the 73-year old Naidu to the CID for further interrogation. The Andhra Pradesh High Court on Tuesday reserved orders on a petition filed by former Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu seeking quashing of an FIR filed against him by the police in the Skill Development Corporation scam case. The court heard the arguments from the legal counsels of Naidu and the AP Crime Investigation Department. Senior counsels Harish Salve and Siddarth Luthra representing Naidu argued that the CID did not obtain prior permission from the Governor as it is a mandatory requirement for police to seek prior approval for conducting any inquiry or investigation into any offence alleged to have been committed by a public servant. Court adjourns Naidu's bail plea to September 19 in corporation case

A local Court in Vijayawada on Friday adjourned the hearing of two bail petitions filed by TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu to September 19. Naidu, who has been remanded in judicial custody for 14 days for the alleged misappropriation of funds from the Skill Development Corporation, leading to a loss of over Rs 300 crore to the state government, had filed an interim bail petition as well as one seeking regular bail. "The court heard the matters in detail and directed the matter to be posted to Tuesday, September 19 to enable us (CID lawyers) to file a counter affidavit," Special Public Prosecutor Y N Vivekananda, representing the CID, told PTI.
