IndiGo flight to Srinagar makes precautionary landing in Varanasi

An IndiGo plane enroute to Srinagar from Kolkata made a precautionary landing at the Varanasi airport on Wednesday evening due to a technical issue. Sources said malfunctioning of a sensor in the aircraft led to a false alarm of fuel leakage, following which the plane landed in Varanasi. "IndiGo flight 6E 6961, operating from Kolkata to Srinagar, made a precautionary landing at Varanasi airport due to a suspected technical issue. As a safety measure, the aircraft has been grounded for necessary checks, and an alternate aircraft has been arranged to continue the journey," the airline said in a statement. Specific details about the technical issue and the number of passengers onboard were not disclosed. The flight was operated with A320 neo aircraft, as per information available on flight tracking website Flightradar24.com.

Reckitt Q3 India revenue hit by GST changes despite Dettol and Durex growth

British FMCG major Reckitt on Wednesday said implementation of new GST slabs in India impacted its net revenue growth in the September quarter. However, the company reported volume-led growth in its germ protection brand Dettol in markets, including India, which helped it grow by double digits in the quarter. Besides, in the Intimate Wellness category, its brand Durex continued to gain market share in India, Reckitt said in its earnings statement. "We continued to drive encouraging sell-out performance in India, whilst LFL net revenue growth (low single digit) was impacted by the GST regime change in September. This resulted in a shift of trade orders to Q4," said Reckitt. However, this short-term disruption, Reckitt said, its "like-for-like (LFL) net revenue growth in India remains high single digit through 2025 YTD. Century Real Estate Q2 results: Net profit jumps over two-fold to ₹1,062 cr

Realty firm Century Real Estate has reported more than two times increase in its sales bookings to Rs 1,062 crore during the July-September period of this fiscal on strong demand for its residential projects. The Bengaluru-based developer had sold properties worth Rs 452 crore in the year-ago period. CCI clears Torrent Pharma's proposal to buy stake in JB Chemicals

Fair trade regulator CCI on Tuesday cleared Torrent Pharmaceuticals Ltd's proposed acquisition of a stake in JB Chemicals and Pharmaceuticals, subject to voluntary modifications offered by the companies. The development came after Torrent Pharmaceuticals in June this year announced the acquisition of a majority stake in JB Chemicals and Pharmaceuticals in a Rs 19,500-crore deal. "The proposed combination relates to the acquisition of shareholding by Torrent Pharmaceuticals Ltd (acquirer) in JB Chemicals & Pharmaceuticals Ltd (target) and the subsequent amalgamation of the target with the acquirer," the regulator said in a release. After the completion of the deal, Torrent Pharmaceuticals will become India's second most valued pharma company. Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles clock over 100K deliveries in festive period

Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles Ltd on Tuesday said it delivered over 1 lakh vehicles in 30 days from Navratri to Diwali, a growth of 33 per cent over the same period last year. The deliveries were led by SUVs with electric vehicles also showing strong traction, Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles Ltd Managing Director and CEO Shailesh Chandra said in a statement. "Over the 30-day period from Navratri to Diwali, we have achieved a landmark milestone with over 1 lakh vehicle deliveries, reflecting a robust 33 per cent growth compared to the same period last year," he said. Jindal Group likely to send team to assess Thyssenkrupp Steel assets

A delegation from Jindal Steel International is expected to visit Germany soon to evaluate various financial and operational aspects of thyssenkrupp Steel's assets, in which the Naveen Jindal-led group entity has expressed interest. In September, Jindal Steel International submitted a non-binding offer to thyssenkrupp AG and initiated discussions for the potential acquisition of its steel division. According to industry sources, the company is now preparing to send representatives to Germany to conduct an in-depth assessment of the thyssenkrupp Steel facilities. The evaluation will include a technical review of plant machinery and a broader analysis of the business operations. Jio-BP sees 34% growth in petrol, diesel sales in July-September quarter

Jio-BP, the fuel retailing joint venture of Reliance Industries and super major BP, clocked a 34 per cent rise in petrol and diesel sales in the September quarter as the joint venture aggressively expands its retail network. Jio-BP clocked 1.8 million sales of petrol and diesel in July-September, 34 per cent more than a year ago, according to an investor presentation made by the company after the second quarter earnings announcement. Also, helping the firm were good margins. "So, if you look at the volume and the growth, petrol and diesel together, we have done about 1.8 million kilolitre. That is a 34 per cent growth. ATF, which is jet fuel, we have done about 157,000 kilolitres. UltraTech Cement Q2 net profit rises to ₹1,238 cr, revenue at ₹19,607 cr

UltraTech Cement, India's leading cement maker, on Saturday reported a consolidated net profit of Rs 1,237.98 crore in the September quarter of FY26. It had posted a net profit of Rs 707.96 crore in the July-September period a year ago, the Aditya Birla group flagship firm said in a regulatory filing. Revenue from operations was at Rs 19,606.93 crore in the latest second quarter ending September. It was Rs 16,294.42 crore a year earlier. The company said its results "for the three months and six months ended September 30, 2025 are not comparable with the previous corresponding period" due to acquisition of south-based India Cements Ltd, Wonder WallCare and Ras Al Khaimah, UAE-based RAKWCT.
