Maharashtra records 295 new coronavirus cases, two more deaths in a day

Maharashtra on Wednesday recorded 295 fresh coronavirus cases and two more deaths linked to the infection, while 201 patients recovered in the state, the health department said. With these additions, the state's overall COVID-19 tally rose to 81,32,465, while the toll increased to 1,48,389, the department said in a bulletin. The state had recorded 257 cases and one coronavirus-related fatality on Tuesday. Among the new cases, Mumbai accounted for 85 infections and one death, said the department. The second death linked to the respiratory illness in the last 24 hours was reported from Pune city, said the bulletin. It said 201 COVID-19 patients recovered in the last 24 hours, taking their cumulative count to 79,82,418 and leaving the state with 1,658 active cases. The coronavirus recovery rate in the state stood at 98.15 per cent, while the fatality rate was 1.82 per cent, said the department. India records 1,190 new Covid cases, 1,375 deaths; recovery rate at 98.73%

With 1,190 fresh cases, India's COVID-19 tally has gone up to 4,46,55,828, while the number of active cases of the infection has declined to 16,243, the Union health ministry said on Wednesday. The death toll due to the viral disease has climbed to 5,30,452 with 1,375 more fatalities, including 1,369 deaths reconciled by Punjab and two reconciled by Kerala, according to the ministry's data updated at 8 am. The active cases account for 0.04 per cent of the total caseload, while the national COVID-19 recovery rate has gone up to 98.78 per cent, according to the ministry's website. A decrease of 1,375 cases was recorded in the active Covid caseload in a span of 24 hours. The number of people who have recuperated from the disease has climbed to 4,41,09,133, while the case fatality rate was recorded at 1.18 per cent, the ministry said. The domestic housing finance sector is now witnessing robust demand after the pandemic and the country's fourth largest player, PNB Housing Finance, expects a strong growth of 40 per cent in disbursals this fiscal year, the company chief said. India records 1,046 new Covid-19 cases, active cases dip to 17,618

With 1,046 people testing positive for coronavirus infection in a day, India's tally of COVID-19 cases rose to 4,46,54,638, while the active cases declined to 17,618, according to the Union Health Ministry data updated on Tuesday. The death toll climbed to 5,29,077 with 53 fatalities which includes 46 deaths reconciled by Goa and three by Kerala, the data updated at 8 am stated. The active cases comprise 0.04 per cent of the total infections, while the national COVID-19 recovery rate increased to 98.78 per cent, according to the ministry. Thane records 43 new Covid-19 infections in a day; active tally at 300

As many as 43 new COVID-19 cases have been detected in Maharashtra's Thane district, taking the tally of infections to 7,46,733, a health official said on Tuesday. Tamil Nadu reports 152 new Covid cases, active tally declines to 1,602

Tamil Nadu reported 152 fresh coronavirus cases on Monday, taking the tally to 35,92,043. With no fatalities, the death toll continued to remain at 38,048 today.
