Delhi records 81 new cases; 1 more death; positivity rate at 0.82%

Delhi on Tuesday recorded 81 fresh Covid cases with a positivity rate of 0.82 per cent and one more death due to the infection, according to the data shared by the city health department here. The new cases were detected from 9,865 tests conducted the previous day, the department said in its latest bulletin. The government did not issue a bulletin on Monday. Delhi on Sunday recorded 95 fresh COVID-19 cases with a positivity rate of 0.97 per cent and one fatality due to the infection. With the new cases, Delhi's COVID-19 tally climbed to 20,02,572, while the death toll increased to 26,500, it said. Cases of COVID-19 in Delhi have registered a drop in the last several days. On Saturday, the city logged 89 COVID-19 cases with a positivity rate of 0.88 per cent and one death. Delhi saw 123 Covid new cases with a positivity rate of 1.16 per cent and zero fatality on Friday. The capital reported 116 Covid cases with a positivity rate of 0.97 per cent and three fatalities on Thursday.

Maharashtra sees 550 Covid-19 cases, two fatalities; active tally at 4,216

Maharashtra on Tuesday recorded 550 fresh coronavirus cases and two fatalities, taking the tally to 81,16,384 and the toll to 1,48,314, the state health department said. A day before, the state had reported 292 infections and two deaths due to the infection. The two COVID-19 fatalities were reported from Mumbai and Thane city. Mumbai logged 120 new cases. Maharashtra's case fatality rate stands at 1.82 per cent. The state is now left with 4,216 active cases, as per the health department. A total of 772 patients recovered from coronavirus infection in the last 24 hours, which raised the cumulative count of recoveries to 79,63,854 at the recovery rate of 98.12 per cent. With 19,755 tests conducted in the last 24 hours, the tally of samples examined so far in Maharashtra has gone up to 8,45,69,171. Mumbai logs 104 new Covid-19 cases, 2 casualties in last 24 hours

Mumbai on Sunday recorded 104 fresh cases of coronavirus and two deaths due to the infection, an official from the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation said. With this, the tally of cases has risen to 11,49,049 and toll to 19,725, he said. Of the latest cases, 14 patients have been hospitalised, with seven on oxygen support, taking the number of patients undergoing treatment at city hospitals to 141, the official said. As many as 185 patients have recovered from the infection in the last 24 hours, raising the count of recoveries to 11,28,253. With a recovery rate of 98.2 per cent, the city currently has 1,071 active cases, he said. At least 7,635 swab samples were tested in the past 24 hours, increasing the total number of tests conducted so far to 1,82,30,558, the official said. Maharashtra on Sunday recorded 602 new coronavirus positive cases and three deaths, which raised its caseload to 81,15,542 and toll to 1,48,310, the state health department said. There was a slight drop in the number of cases on Sunday as compared the previous day, when the state had recorded 631 cases along with three fatalities. The highest number of 239 cases were detected in the Mumbai circle, followed by 191 in Pune circle, 51 in Nagpur, Nashik 38, Kolhapur 29, Aurangabad eight, Latur and Amrawati circles 23 each, the department said. Two deaths were reported in Mumbai city, while another one was recorded in Ratnagiri district under Kolhapur circle, it said. Odisha's COVID-19 tally rose to 13,31,586 on Saturday as 233 more people, including 34 children, tested positive for the infection, a health bulletin said. 5 dead, 12 injured as bus plunges into gorge in Jammu and Kashmir's Rajouri

Five persons were killed and 12 others injured when the bus they were travelling in plunged into a deep gorge in Jammu and Kashmir's Rajouri district, officials said on Thursday. The bus, which was on its way to Jammu from Surankote Poonch, skidded off the road and plunged into the gorge at Deri Ralyot in Manjakote area, they said. Security forces and local residents have launched a rescue operation, they added. The accident comes a day after 11 people were killed and 28 others injured in another accident in Jammu and Kashmir's Poonch district.
