3 earthquakes jolt Jaipur in span of half an hour, no casualties, damage
Three earthquakes were felt in Jaipur in the early hours of Friday in a span of half an hour.The latest earthquake of magnitude 3.4 occurred at around 4.25 am, the National Center for Seismology (NCS) reported. Earthquake of magnitude 6.4 jolts El Salvador's San Salvador: Officials
An earthquake of magnitude 6.4 jolted Southeast of San Salvador, El Salvador on Wednesday early morning, the National Center for Seismology (NCS) said. According to NCS, the earthquake occurred at 05:52 am IST on July 19. 7.2-magnitude quake strikes Alaska Peninsula, tsunami warning issued: USGS
A powerful 7.2-magnitude earthquake struck the Alaska Peninsula region early on Sunday, according to the United States Geological Survey (USGS). According to initial reports, a tsunami warning was issued after the earthquake. There were no immediate reports of damages. The offshore quake hit at a depth of 21 kilometres off the Alaskan peninsula, it added.
Earthquake of 4.9 magnitude jolts Jammu & Kashmir's Doda district
An earthquake of magnitude 4.9 hit Jammu and Kashmir's Doda district early Monday, the National Centre for Seismology said. The quake occurred at 5.38 am. There are no immediate reports of any damage, officials said. The epicentre was 10 km below the surface of the earth in Doda region. It occurred at latitude 33.15 degrees north and longitude 75.68 degrees east, the NCS said. According to officials, 12 tremors with varied intensity have jolted Doda since June this year. A 5.4 magnitude earthquake hit the district on June 13, causing cracks in dozens of buildings, including houses.

Earthquake recorded off Myanmar's coast, shakes buildings in Thailand
An earthquake was recorded off the southern coast of Myanmar on Monday with tremors also felt in Thailand, but there were no immediate reports of major damage. The 5.1 magnitude quake was recorded about 152 kilometers (95 miles) south of Yangon, Myanmar's biggest city, at 10 kilometers (6 miles) below the surface at 8:10 a.m., according to Myanmar's meteorology department. At least two people were killed and 26 others went missing as floods and landslides triggered by monsoon rains wreaked havoc in eastern Nepal, officials said on Sunday. A man was found dead and 21 others working at the under-construction Super Hewa Hydropower Project in Chainpur Municipality-4 have gone missing, the Kathmandu Post newspaper quoted police officials as saying. Deputy Superintendent of Police Birendra Godar said it is yet to be ascertained whether the workers moved to a safer location following the flood or were swept away by Hewa River, the report said. In the neighbouring Panchthar district, a 9-year-old girl died after her house was swept away in a landslide. Five villagers of Chainpur have also gone missing after flooding in the area, police said. Two earthquakes of mild intensity hit J&K's Doda, no damage reported
Two mild intensity earthquakes shook the mountainous Doda district of Jammu and Kashmir early Sunday, officials said. The Union Territory of Ladakh also recorded a mild tremor late Saturday. There was no report of any damage reported from anywhere, the officials said. 5 earthquakes hit Jammu region in a day, educational institutes shut
Five earthquakes jolted the Jammu region on Wednesday and triggered panic among residents, a day after a 5.4 magnitude quake hit the Doda district of the Union Territory. The fresh earthquakes have prompted the administration to shut down educational institutes in twin mountainous districts of Doda and Kishtwar. Officials said the earthquakes that occurred in the Jammu region on Wednesday causes some damage to property but there were no reports so far of any casualties. In Kishtwar, a 3.3 magnitude quake was recorded at 8.29 am. Its epicentre was at a depth of five kilometers, according to the National Centre for Seismology (NCS). A tremor of 3.5 magnitude was recorded in Gujarat's Kutch district on Wednesday evening at a time when cyclone 'Biparjoy' is approaching the coast in the region, officials said. No damage to property or life was reported. The tremor was recorded at 5:05 PM at a distance of 5 km West South West (WSW) of Bhachau in Kutch district, the Institute of Seismological Research at Gandhinagar said in its update. The powerful cyclone is very likely to cross Saurashtra and Kutch and adjoining Pakistan coasts and make landfall near Jakhau Port in Kutch by June 15 evening, according to Met department. Kutch district is located in a "very high risk" seismic zone, and earthquakes of lower intensity occur regularly there. The 2001 earthquake was the third largest and second most destructive in India over the last two centuries. A large number of towns and villages in Kutch district suffered extensive damage, killing thousands of people and leaving 1.67 lakh injured.

An earthquake of 3.6 magnitude hit the central part of Assam on Sunday morning, an official bulletin said. There was no immediate report of any loss of life or injury to anyone or damage to property, it said. A National Center for Seismology report said the latest quake was recorded at 11:35 am with the epicentre in Sonitpur district on the northern bank of the Brahmaputra river. The depth of the quake was five km, it said. The exact location of the epicentre of the earthquake is around 150 km northeast of Guwahati, near Tezpur town in north central Assam. People in the neighbouring Darrang, Lakhimpur and Udalguri districts also felt the tremor, besides those in Morigaon, Nagaon and West Karbi Anglong on the southern bank of the Brahmaputra river. The northeastern states fall in the high seismic zone, and earthquakes frequently hit the region.

An earthquake of magnitude 3.9 jolted Ladakh and Jammu and Kashmir on Friday, the National Centre for Seismology (NCS) said. There was no report of any loss of life or damage to property, officials said. The earthquake struck at 10.23 am and lasted for a few seconds, the NCS said. The depth of the earthquake was 10 kilometers below the surface of the earth at latitude 35.64 degrees north and longitude 76.62 degrees east. Its epicentre was in Ladakh, officials said.
