NPAs of Indian banks is Congress' making: Modi
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday accused the Congress of creating a large mess of NPAs in Indian banks and said that from during UPA rule from 2008 to 2014 the "underground loot of banks" was such that the amount of NPAs increased from Rs 18 lakh crore to Rs 52 lakh crore.
Cast for 'Cats' movie adaptation announced
The cast ensemble for 'Cats' movie adaptation is confirmed.According to The Hollywood Reporter, the star cast will include Ian McKellen, Taylor Swift, Jennifer Hudson along with James Corden.The story revolves around a tribe of cats called the Jellicles and the night they make what is known as "the Jellicle choice" and decide which cat will ascend to the Heaviside Layer and come back to a new life.Directed by Tom Hooper, the movie is based on Andrew Lloyd Webber's hit musical which is originally based on writer T.S. Eliot's novel 'Old Possum's Book of Practical Cats'.The production of the movie will start later this year with the rest of the cast which is yet to be announced.The release date of the movie has not been announced yet.
Title for the next season of 'American Horror Story' revealed
The title for the season 8 of the 'American Horror Story' was revealed on the official Twitter handle of the show.The show will be called 'American Horror Story Apocalypse'.According to the Hollywood Reporter, the show will feature 'Murder House' and 'Coven' crossover.The cast ensemble for the show will include Sarah Paulson, Kathy Bates, Emma Roberts, Cheyenne Jackson, Billie Lourd, Billy Eichner, Adina Porter, Leslie Grossman.American Horror Story is an anthology horror-drama series created and produced by Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk.

Bhojpuri actor Nirahua booked for threatening journalist
Bhojpuri actor Dinesh Lal Yadav, popularly known as Nirahua, has been booked for allegedly threatening a journalist from the adjoining Palghar district, police said today. The 39-year-old was booked yesterday under IPC section 506 (Punishment for Criminal Intimidation) by Tulinj police, an official release said. According to a complaint filed by the 45-year-old journalist, he was threatened by Nirahua after he wrote about one of his films. The actor allegedly called up the scribe on July 18 and verbally abused him before threatening to kill him, the police release said. A probe is underway, it added. Nirahua was not available for comment on the complaint.
Paramount TV president Amy Powell fired
Paramount TV president Amy Powell was fired following inappropriate comments she made in a meeting.According to The Hollywood Reporter, it was made known through an internal memo from Paramount CEO Jim Gianopulos in which he cited the concerns and comments from multiple individuals in connection to Powell's comments in a "professional setting, which they believed were inconsistent" with Viacom's values.It has come to notice that a complaint was filed with the human resources department who along with the legal department investigated the assertions and those involved on the notes call.According to The Hollywood Reporter sources, the company was earlier considering a disciplinary action but later decided to fire Amy Powell after she denied the allegations.The comments made by Powell were apparently 'racially charged'.Following Powell's firing, Paramount COO Andrew Gumpert will oversee operational support, while Mireille Soria, Brian Robbins and Wyck Godfrey - presidents of Paramount ..
Malayalam actor Mammooty calls on Telangana minister
Popular Malayalam film actor Mammootty today met Telangana municipal administration minister K T Rama Rao and invited him for an awards function to be held here on July 25. Startups entrepreneurship awards would be presented at the event to be organised by the Malayalee association in Telangana in association with the state government, an official release said. Mammotty lauded the Telangana government's schemes, including input subsidy scheme for farmers, it said. Rao explained the programmes taken up by the Telangana government at Sabarimala with the help of Kerala government and also the help extended to Malayalees in Telangana, it added.

'Dabangg' role backfired for me: Mahie Gill
She made an impressive debut as an unconventional heroine in Anurag Kashyap's "Dev D" but actor Mahie Gill believes her decision to do a supporting role in commercial potboiler "Dabangg" was a wrong move. Post "Dev D", Mahie featured in "Gulaal" and then came "Dabangg", directed by Anurag's brother Abhinav and starring Salman Khan. "After 'Dev D', I had won a lot of appreciation and awards.
