Bhojpuri actor Dinesh Lal Yadav, popularly known as Nirahua, has been booked for allegedly threatening a journalist from the adjoining Palghar district, police said today. The 39-year-old was booked yesterday under IPC section 506 (Punishment for Criminal Intimidation) by Tulinj police, an official release said. According to a complaint filed by the 45-year-old journalist, he was threatened by Nirahua after he wrote about one of his films. The actor allegedly called up the scribe on July 18 and verbally abused him before threatening to kill him, the police release said. A probe is underway, it added. Nirahua was not available for comment on the complaint.

Popular Malayalam film actor Mammootty today met Telangana municipal administration minister K T Rama Rao and invited him for an awards function to be held here on July 25. Startups entrepreneurship awards would be presented at the event to be organised by the Malayalee association in Telangana in association with the state government, an official release said. Mammotty lauded the Telangana government's schemes, including input subsidy scheme for farmers, it said.
