Ranbir, Deepika walk the ramp together for the first time
Walking hand in hand, actors Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone dazzled in their maiden appearance on the ramp for Mijwan, a fund raiser event hosted by Bollywood veteran Shabana Azmi. The actors walked for the fundraiser charity show, held annually to raise money for the development of craftswomen in Mijwan, a village in Uttar Pradesh. Vidyut, Shruti start shooting for untitled gangster drama
Actors Vidyut Jammwal and Shruti Haasan have commenced shooting for their untitled gangster drama, to be directed by Mahesh Manjrekar. The script has been penned by Manjrekar and the film will also feature veteran actors Naseeruddin Shah and Amol Palekar. According to a release, the shooting started today and is currently taking place in Mumbai. Shruti also shared the news on her official Twitter account and posted a photo with her co-star and director. "And here's to another one !! Day 1 of my next film directed by @manjrekarmahesh with @VidyutJammwal again!" she tweeted. Vidyut wrote, "New day, new beginnings! Its Day 1 of my next film directed by @manjrekarmahesh." In 'October', challenge was not to be melodramatic: Shoojit Sircar
With a story about love, longing and loss, Shoojit Sircar could have easily made his film "October" melodramatic but the filmmakers says he chose not to go overboard as he wanted to give the story a life-like feel. "October" features Varun Dhawan as Dan, an endearing hotel trainee who undergoes a transformation when his colleague Shuili, played by Banita Sandhu, is hospitalised after a freak accident. Sircar is elated that both the film and his "directorial craft" from cinematography, music, editing to the treatment of charactershas been appreciated. "I had never tried this genre. Anupam Kher to star in BBC One's 'Mrs Wilson'
Taking his foreign endeavours a step further, Anupam Kher has joined the cast of BBC One's drama "Mrs Wilson". The period drama is inspired by the memoir of Alison Wilson. However, the details of the character to be played by Kher, who has been a part of international projects such as "Silver Linings Playbook" (2013), "The Big Sick" (2018) and "Sense 8", have not been revealed as of yet. Kher was recently nominated for the Best Supporting Actor TV BAFTA for his role in another BBC series "The Boy with The Topknot". "'Mrs Wilson' is set in a very interesting background and follows a gripping storyline which had me hooked as I read it. Not to mention, it is great to be part of such a talented star-cast ensemble. 'October' faces plagiarism heat; Marathi filmmaker cries foul
Budding Marathi director Sarika Mene has alleged the National Award-winning director Shoojit Sircar's latest venture "October" is a copy of her film. Sarika claims the makers of "October" have picked up the main plot point and characters from her 2017 production "Aarti The Unknown Love Story". The Varun Dhawan-starrer romantic drama hit the theatres last week. "When the trailer was out, I did get a gut feeling that it would be same, I was wondering such a big name would not do this to me so I thought it will be (just a) little glance of my film. "When the film released and I saw it, it was 90 per cent same. He (Shoojit) is such a respected person... I have seen his films like 'Piku', 'Vicky Donor' I was like he has a (story) sense I am shocked he did this," Sarika told PTI. Hollywood star Natalie Portman has cancelled her trip to Israel where she was set to receive the Genesis Prize as she "disagrees with the policies of the government of Israel." 66-year-old Khomdram Gambhir Singh, from Manipur, who went missing 40 years ago finally returned home and reunited with family.He was identified after a YouTube video of him singing a Hindi film song in Mumbai went viral.People from Imphal's Khumbong village welcomed Gambhir at the Airport with banners and placards thanking social media for his return.They also thanked Firoze, the person who took the video clip.Gambhir was received by Lok Sabha MP, Dr. Th.
