Arctic Monkeys announce UK and Ireland tour

English band Arctic Monkeys have announced the dates of their Irish and UK tour which will be taking place later this year. The seven-time Brit awards winning band will head out in support of their new LP 'Tranquility Base Hotel & Casino' this September. "We're pleased to announce our live dates in September 2018. Tickets go on sale at 9am on Friday 13th April," the band tweeted. The band, which consists of Alex Turner, Matt Helders, Jamie Cook and Nick O'Malley, will kick off their tour with two consecutive performances at Manchester Arena on September 6 and September 7, before hitting London's The O2 on September 9 and 10. The group is also slated to perform in their hometown of Sheffield at FlyDSA Arena on September 18 and 19. The tour will eventually conclude at the Metro Radio Arena in Newcastle upon Tyne on September 27. 'Tranquility Base Hotel & Casino' is their first album in five years and consists of 11 brand new tracks.

SC clears decks for release of movie 'Nanak Shah Fakir'

The Supreme Court today cleared the decks for an all-India release of the controversial movie 'Nanak Shah Fakir' on April 13. The top court criticised the apex Sikh body Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) for putting restrictions on the release of the movie, based on the life and teachings of the first Sikh guru, Guru Nanak Dev. A bench of Chief Justice Dipak Misra and justices A M Khanwilkar and D Y Chandrachud said once the statutory body like the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) has cleared the movie, no individual has the right to impede its release. The bench asked all the states to maintain law and order and ensure smooth screening of the film. The petitioner Harinder S Sikka, a retired Naval officer and the producer of the film, had approached the apex court seeking protection of the Fundamental Right of speech and expression and the propagation of religious views which, he alleged, was being curtailed by certain section of the people having vested ...

"Guardians of the Galaxy" star Zoe Saldana has blasted out at her peers in Hollywood for looking down on Marvel films. The actor, who plays Gamora in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), says she is disappointed with the negative attitude industry insiders have towards superhero movies. "I've been in rooms with people in this industry who are great at what they do, but they're absolutely elitist and they look down at movies like the Marvel films or actors like myself. 'Scream Queens' star Diego Boneta joins 'Terminator' reboot

'24' alum Leslie Hope to make feature directorial debut with rom-com

Actor Leslie Hope, who played the role of Jack Bauer's wife on the first season of "24", has decided to make her feature directorial debut with indie romantic comedy,"The Swearing Jar". According to the Hollywood Reporter, Hope will direct the film from a screenplay adapted by actress Kate Hewlet from her theatrical play. Casting is currently underway through Heidi Levitt Casting in Los Angeles. The project will be produced by Jane Loughman of Monkeys & Parrots and Kyle Bornais and Tony Wosk of Farpoint Films. Filming is scheduled to start later this year in Toronto, Canada. The story revolves around Carey, a musician and teacher who throws a birthday concert for her husband, Simon, only to be plunged into the history of their marriage, parenting and loss through comedy, music and memory.

Russian ballet 'Swan Lake' now comes to Kolkata

Forty-five artistes from the Royal Russian Ballet will stage the iconic ballet 'Swan Lake' in the city from April 12 to April 14, after performing in other cities of the country. The production of the current edition of 'Swan Lake', has been choreographed by Vladimir Troschenko and directed by Anatoly Kazatsky, both veteran ballet artistes. 'Swan Lake' is a ballet having a 140-year old history and its central plot originates from Russian folk tales. It is about Odette, a princess turned into a swan by an evil sorcerers curse and how she breaks the curse with the power of love. 'Swan Lake' is performed on the classical compositions written by Russian composer, Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky. It was composed in 187576 The ballet had previously held 36 shows in Mumbai, Delhi and Ahmedabad with the last phase of the tour being Kolkata. 'Glee' alums Lea Michele and Darren Criss announce joint tour

"Glee" stars Lea Michele and Darren Criss are reuniting for their joint LMDC Tour. The nine-city schedule kicks off May 30 in Nashville and includes stops in Cincinnati, Pittsburgh, Washington DC, Indianapolis, Columbus, Easton, Newark and Toronto, reported Entertainment Weekly. The duo will perform together as well as individually, revisiting songs from Broadway and "Glee" as well as performing original songs from their recent solo albums. "We've always had so much fun performing together for one-off gigs, so it's high time we took that show on the road. We share so much musical history together between Glee, Broadway, and our own solo projects, so it will be fun to put it all together for our fans in one big show," Michele and Criss, both 31, said in a joint statement.

Carrie Underwood to perform new song at 2018 ACM Awards
