Blumhouse Production's supernatural-thriller "Truth or Dare" is set to release in India on April 20. Universal Pictures India is releasing the film in the country. Directed by Jeff Wadlow ("Kick-Ass 2"), "Truth or Dare" features actor Lucy Hale of "Pretty Little Liars" fame and Tyler Posey of "Teen Wolf". The film revolves around a group of friends who decide to play the game of truth or dare. Little did they know that this harmless game was about to turn deadly when someoneor rather something a supernatural entity begins to possess each member of the group and punishes them for lying or turning down the dare. Reporters Without Borders (RSF) and leading broadcasters launched a drive against fake news today with a new set of trust and transparency standards for journalists. The Journalism Trust Initiative (JTI), which hopes to be able to certify outlets and news sources with high standards of ethical norms and independence, is being backed by Agence-France Presse, the European Broadcasting Union (EBU) and the Global Editors Network. RSF head Christophe Deloire said the idea was that search engines and social media platforms would give preferential treatment in their algorithms to media outlets that met the standards. He hopes that it will lead to the setting up of a "trusted media label" in a world increasingly assaulted by fake news. The Prime Minister's Office today ordered the Information and Broadcasting Ministry to withdraw its press release on fake news, holding that the decision on what constitutes fake news should be left to press bodies. According to official sources, the PMO felt that the government should not interfere in the matter. I and B ministry officials confirmed that the directives from the PMO on the issue have been received and said the press release is likely to be withdrawn shortly. The ministry had yesterday announced measures to contain fake news, saying a journalist's accreditation could be permanently cancelled if he or she is found generating or propagating fake news. The guidelines drew a sharp reaction from the Congress and several journalists.
