American band OneRepublic to perform in Mumbai

American pop-rock band OneRepublic, best known for their songs 'Apologize', 'Secrets' and 'Good Life', is all set to perform in the city on April 21. The Grammy nominated Colorado-based band is embarking on a two week Asia tour with performances scheduled in Singapore, South Korea, China, Malaysia and Mumbai. "We've wanted to visit India for years, and are beyond excited to finally get the chance to not only perform a full concert but also explore your beautiful country. See you soon!," he band said in a statement. "We have been in talks with the management since over six months now as we realized that the band enjoys a great repertoire in the country with a significant fanbase originating out of India," added Cyrus Gorimar, director, Opium Events And Production, the company behind the band's India trip.

Hollywood stars such as Eddie Redmayne, Benedict Cumberbatch and Kumail Nanjiani have condoled the death of famed British theoretical physicist Stephen Hawking. Hawking, who simplified and popularised complex theories for public through his best-selling book 'A Brief History of Time', died on Tuesday night at the age of 76. Redmayne, who won an Oscar for his portrayal of the scientist, remembered Hawking as the "funniest" man he ever met. South Indian actress attack case: Trial begins

Trial in the case of the alleged attack on a noted South Indian actress in February last year began at a sessions court here today. Popular Malayalam actor Dileep is the eighth accused in the case of alleged sexual assault on the actress by a gang of men in a moving car here. Ten of the accused, including prime accused 'Pulsar' Suni and Dileep, were present in the Ernakulam Principal Sessions Court. There are 12 accused in the case. Besides the prosecution, the actress was represented by city-based criminal lawyer P G Manu. The actress, through her counsel, moved a plea, seeking to set up a special court presided by a woman judge for hearing the case. She also sought speedy disposal of the case through in-camera proceedings. Meanwhile, the court said that all the evidence, barring copies of visuals of the alleged sexual assault committed on the actress by the gang, can be provided to the defence. The case has been posted for March 28. Dileep had last week moved a petition in the high .
