They were very upset by it because they want to protect the people that they're working with. And in this case, that didn't happen. It was a really sad time," Beetz told Entertainment Weekly. Three writers -- including bestselling "Wild Swans" author Jung Chang -- will no longer attend the Macau Literary Festival after authorities there said they were likely to be barred, the latest sign of Beijing's hardening line across its territories. Macau is a semi-autonomous part of China and the move to scupper the writers comes as Beijing ramps up warnings against any challenges to its authority and sovereignty. London-based Chang has been highly critical of China's political system. Her works, which include an explosive biography of Mao Zedong, have been banned on the mainland. The two other authors targeted by officials have both written in-depth about North Korea, which counts China as its main ally and diplomatic defender. "We were informed informally, unofficially, that it was not considered timely that these guests would come to Macau at this moment and that there was a high probability that they would not be allowed to enter Macau," the festival's co-founder and programme ..

Chopra said when the project was on the brink of release, many colleagues of the actor told her that it does not go with Priyanka's "brand image". "The first film we did was a Bhojpuri one. You can't imagine what reaction I got from Mumbai, Priyanka's colleagues and peers. They said, 'Your mom has gone mad, why are you all even making Bhojpuri films? It doesn't go with your brand image'. "But I told Priyanka, you are uplifting a region that needs your attention. You are doing it for passion, for a cause. I can say it with great pride that commercial success or business was not on our mind. It was forging a path and becoming an option for new regions," .

Director Hansal Mehta says the film he was planning to make with Sridevi was about a woman who discovers womanhood in her late 50s. When the filmmaker learnt about Sridevi's death, he had tweeted that he was planning to approach her for a project. "It is a beautiful story, I have got the rights for it. It is from a book, a novella... It is a Chinese story. I felt it would be wonderful to do it with Sridevi. I had thought of narrating the idea to her, but she passed away. It was shocking," Mehta told PTI. The "Aligarh" director says the film would have revolved around the veteran superstar. "It was a departure from the kind of films I was making. It is a tale about love, about how in the late 50s you are discovering womanhood... Motherhood and marriage, without either being a wife or a mother," he says. "She (the protagonist) experiences all these emotions supposedly... All these years she has been single," he adds. Mehta says he is determined to go ahead with the film but is yet to ..
