Chris Hemsworth in talks to star in 'Men in Black' spinoff

"Thor: Ragnarok" star Chris Hemsworth is in negotiation with Sony Pictures to star in the "Men in Black" spinoff. The actor is in advance talks with the studio for the lead role in the film. The studio is also in negotiations with director F Gary Gray to helm the project. "Iron Man" scribes Matt Holloway and Art Marcum have penned the script of the new film, reported Variety. Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones are not expected to return in the film, which is meant to launch a new franchise with fresh talent involved. Sony had originally planned to combine the "Men and Black" and "21 Jump Street" franchises, but have since shelved that idea. Kristen Wiig in talks to play villain Cheetah in 'Wonder Woman 2'

Actor Kristen Wiig is in negotiations with Warner Bros and DC Entertainment to star in "Wonder Woman 2". The 44-year-old actor has emerged as the frontrunner to play the role of Cheetah, who is known to possess superhuman strength and agility in the comics, reported Variety. Wiig is popular known for films "Bridemaids", Ridley Scott's "The Martian" and all-female reboot "Ghostbusters", which also starred Melissa McCarthy, Leslie Jones and Kate McKinnon. Actor Gal Gadot will reprise the titular role with director Patty Jenkins once again helming the project. The sequel is rumoured to be set in the 1980s against the backdrop of the Cold War. "Wonder Woman" was released in June last year and raked in more than USD 821 million at the worldwide box office.

James Badge Dale to star in 'The Incident at Sparrow Creek Lumber'

Actor James Badge Dale will lead the cast of the film The Incident at Sparrow Creek Lumber. The Only The Brave star joins Patrick Fischler, Chris Mulkey, Robert Aramayo, Happy Anderson and Gene Jones in the project, reported Variety. Alienist star Brian Geraghty is also aboard the project, which will be helmed by Henry Dunham. The film is an ex-cop drama and follows the story of a former police officer who is forced out of retirement after he realises a mass shooting at a police funeral was committed by a member of the same militia he joined after quitting the force. The shooting is expected to start next month in Texas.

Pitt, DiCaprio to star in Tarantino's 'Once Upon a Time in Hollywood'

After Leonardo DiCaprio, Hollywood star Brad Pitt has joined the cast of director Quentin Tarantino's Manson movie. The film's title has been revealed as "Once Upon a Time in Hollywood" and the director describes the project as "a story that takes place in Los Angeles in 1969, at the height of hippy Hollywood". DiCaprio, 43, will play the character of Rick Dalton, a former star of a Western TV series, while Pitt, 54, will portray his longtime stunt double Cliff Booth. "Both are struggling to make it in a Hollywood they don't recognize anymore. But Rick has a very famous next-door neighbour... 'No intelligence' Russia compromised seven states ahead of 2016 election: DHS

The US Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has denied a media report saying Russian operatives penetrated the websites or databases of Alaska, Arizona, California, Florida, Illinois, Texas and Wisconsin ahead of the 2016 presidential election.The denial comes after an NBC News report quoted a US official as saying that an analysis requested by former President Obama in the last weeks of his administration showed Russia breached voter sites or registration systems in those states."NBC's reporting tonight on the 2016 elections is not accurate and is actively undermining efforts of the Department of Homeland Security to work in close partnership with state and local governments to protect the nation's election systems from foreign actors," DHS acting Press Secretary Tyler Q. Bollywood director Rajkumar Santoshi was admitted to Nanavati Hospital here for a heart ailment today. "He has been admitted to the hospital for a heart- related problem. We can't share any further information at the moment," a hospital official said. Santoshi, who started his career as an assistant director for Govind Nihlani's "Ardh Satya" (1982), is known for hit films such as "Ghayal", "Damini" and the cult comedy "Andaz Apna Apna". Consumers should file complaints if they feel channel content violates broadcasting code. Irani

Union Information and Broadcasting Minister Smriti Irani today said action will be taken against any TV channel if there is complaint from consumers that it has violated the broadcasting code of conduct . There is a self-regulatory mechanism in electronic media, like the Broadcast Editors Association, which ensures that every private channel in the country has to go by certain code, Irani said at a session of FICCI Ladies' Organisation here. "First, register your complaint with the Association about any content which you do not like and the industry has the capacity to listen to your views and there had been instances of action taken by the association against certain channels," she said. Crowds throng streets as Sridevi makes her last journey

A sea of humanity emerged on the roads as the truck carrying the mortal remains of Bollywood diva Sridevi wound its way to a crematorium in suburban Vile Parle this afternoon.
