Popular talk show host Ellen DeGeneres gifted her studio audience a whopping USD 1 million to express her gratitude for each of their acts of kindness. Ellen spent the week celebrating her 60th birthday, and for her special surprise, she partnered with cereal brand Cheerios to give her audience USD 1 million to split among themselves. "I want to take a moment first of all to say everybody in the audience is here for a special reason," DeGeneres said. Popular band Spice Girls have said they are reuniting and planning to work on "new opportunities together". The members of the band -- Victoria Beckham, Emma Bunton, Geri Horner, Mel Brown and Melanie Chisholm -- recently met at Horner's Hertfordshire residence, where they were accompanied by former manager Simon Fuller. Adam Shankman to helm 'What Women Want' remake

Adam Shankman will the direct the "What Women Want" remake, starring actor Taraji P Henson in the lead. The film, titled "What Men Want", will have Henson play the role of a sports agent, who gains the power to hear men's thoughts, reported Variety. Released in 2000, "What Women Want" was directed by Nancy Meyers and featured Mel Gibson and Helen Hunt in the lead. The new project will be produced by Will Packer and James Lopez with Henson as executive producer. The shooting on the film is expected to start soon. It is scheduled to release in January next year.

Willem Dafoe to star in 'Motherless Brooklyn'

Actor Willem Dafoe has joined the cast of the film "Motherless Brooklyn". "The Florida Project" actor joins Edward Norton in the project, which is an official adaptation of the Jonathan Lethem novel by the same name, reported Variety. Norton is also directing the film, while Bill Migliore and Stuart Blumberg will serve as the producers. The film is set in 1954's New York where a private investigator, affected by Tourette Syndrome, witnesses the murder of his only friend and mentor, by shadowy thugs. It will be executive produced by Gigi Pritzker, Rachel Shane and Sue Kroll.

Shiv Sena demands probe into Hyd theatre rape case

The Shiv Sena on Saturday demanded a probe into the rape of a 19-year-old girl inside a Hyderabad movie theatre, given that other audiences were also present there."It's shocking how such an incident can occur in presence of hundreds of people in a theatre," Shiv Sena spokesperson Manisha Kayande told ANI."There are security guards and CCTV cameras; I don't know if there are, but ideally theatres should be covered with CCTV cameras. It is quite unbelievable and shocking and should be probed," she added.The victim had gone to watch film 'Padmaavat' at the theatre on Friday, when she was raped by a man, whom she had befriended on social media two months back.According to police who arrested the accused, the latter said that he took advantage of the fact that there were only a few people in the theatre and nobody was near them.
