Rachel Weisz to star in sci-fi film 'Cloud One'
Actor Rachel Weisz is set to play the lead in independent sci-fi project "Cloud One". Goran Dukic, who helmed "Wristcutters: A Love Story", is directing the film from a script he penned, reported Variety. The film is based on a short story by Etgar Keret. The movie is expected to start filming soon. Weisz has two films set to release in 2018: the Lionsgate drama "The Mercy," which also stars Colin Firth, and "The Favourite," which features Emma Stone and Joe Alwyn.

Veteran actor Robert Redford praised the #MeToo and Time's Up movements as a "tipping point" in Hollywood that will create more opportunities for women, as he kick started the the Sundance Film Festival. Machine Gun Kelly to play Tommy Lee in 'The Dirt'
Rapper-actor Machine Gun Kelly has been roped in to play Tommy Lee in Netflix's Motley Crue biopic "The Dirt". Jeff Tremaine, who helmed the "Jackass" movies, is directing the film from a script by Rich Wilkes and Tom Kapinos, reported Variety. Members of Motley Crue are co-producing the project along with Julie Yorn, Erik Olsen, and Allen Kovac. Based on the 2001 autobiography "The Dirt: Confessions of the World's Most Notorious Rock Band," the movie follows the group's rise during the '80s 'hair band' rock scene on the Sunset Strip and pulls no punches as it dives into the band's highs and lows along the way. Motley Crue was formed in L A and released its first album, 'Too Fast for Love,' in 1981. The band played its final concert on New Year's Eve in 2015 at the Staples Center in Los Angeles.
'Toy Story 4' gets new screenwriter in Stephany Folsom
Disney-Pixar has roped in Stephany Folsom as the screenwriter for "Toy Story 4". The movie is set for release on June 21, 2019, reported Variety. Rashida Jones and writing partner Will McCormack were suppose to write for the project but quit in November. Disney animation chief John Lasseter was originally the co-director of "Toy Story 4," but stepped down in July, with Josh Cooley taking over as the sole director. The three "Toy Story" movies have combined to gross nearly USD 2 billion worldwide.
Luke Kleintank joins 'The Goldfinch' cast
Actor Luke Kleintank is set to star in Warner Bros and Amazon Studios' movie adaptation of "The Goldfinch." Ansel Elgort will portray Theo and Aneurin Barnard is Boris in the film to be directed by John Crowley, reported Variety. Based on Donna Tartt's Pulitzer Prize-winning book of the same name, the movie follows a young man named Theodore Decker who survives a terrorist bombing at an art museum an attack that kills his mother. Colin Firth says he will not work with Woody Allen again
Colin Firth is the latest actor to speak out against Woody Allen, saying he will not do any projects with the filmmaker in the future. The 57-year-old actor worked with Allen on his 2013 film "Magic in the Moonlight". "I wouldn't work with him again," Firth said in a statement to The Guardian. The statement was issued on the same day Dylan Farrow gave her first televised interview accusing her adopted father of sexually assaulting her when she was seven years old. Farrow previously penned an open letter accusing Allen of assault in 2014 and on op-ed piece in 2017 questioning why Allen has been allowed to continue to work in Hollywood and why the #MeToo movement was seemingly overlooking his actions. Rupert Friend joins streaming series 'Strange Angel'
"Homeland" star Rupert Friend is all set to star in a new streaming series, "Strange Angel". The 36-year-old actor will co-star with Jack Reynor, who plays Jack Parsons, a blue-collar worker-turned-scientist of 1930s Los Angeles in the CBS All Access series, Entertainment Weekly reported. Friend will play Ernest Donovan, Parson's enigmatic neighbour, who becomes the young scientist's tour guide into the illicit underbelly of that time. "A lost soul and drifter, Donovan pulls Parsons out of his humdrum existence and into a strange new religion that encourages its followers to pursue their deepest and darkest desires as a means of bending the world to their will," a statement read.
