SC refuses to halt release of film 'Ram Ki Janmabhoomi'
The Supreme Court on Thursday refused to halt the release of Director Sanoj Mishra's film 'Ram Ki Janmabhoomi' which is slated to be released on Friday.The litigant's plea claimed that the release of the movie will prejudice the ongoing mediation process in Ram Mandir-Babri Masjid case.While hearing the plea, a bench comprising Justices S A Bobde and S Abdul Nazeer, said: "What's the relation between movie and mediation. The parties want to settle it. We are not so pessimistic. The BJP is banking on the popularity of some of Bhojpuri film industry's biggest stars to see it through a clutch of Lok Sabha seats in eastern Uttar Pradesh and West Bengal. The Ambassador of France to India, Alexandre Ziegler, on Wednesday released the first four albums of the Asterix comics series in Hindi at the Residence of France here. Talking about the comics book series published by Om Books International, the ambassador said that the characters embodying the French spirit are timeless and a part of the French heritage. A follow-up on "Sex and the City" television series is in development, the makers have announced. According to Deadline, the new show will be based on Candace Bushnell's forthcoming non-fiction book, "Is There Still Sex in the City?" that picks up where her original left off. Again set in New York, the show will explore themes of sex, love and dating after the age of 50. The rights have been acquired by Paramount Television and Anonymous Content to develop as a TV series. Bushnell will pen the pilot script and serve as an executive producer on the project, along with Liza Chasin from 3dot Productions and Robyn Meisinger from Anonymous Content.
