'Capernaum' director Nadine Labaki to head Un Certain Regard jury president at Cannes

Director Nadine Labaki, whose "Capernaum" was nominated for foreign film Academy award this year, will preside over the jury of Cannes sidebar Un Certain Regard, the festival announced Tuesday. The actor-filmmaker had won the Jury Prize in Cannes for the Lebanese film. "After moving hearts and minds at the last Festival de Cannes with her Academy Award- and Golden Globe-nominated Capernaum, which won the Jury Prize in Cannes, Lebanese director Nadine Labaki will be taking over from actor Benicio Del Toro as president of the Un Certain Regard Jury for the 72nd edition of the festival," organisers said. Michael Fimognari to direct 'To All The Boys I've Loved Before' sequel

Michael Fimognari has been tapped in to helm the much awaited sequel of Netflix hit film "To All The Boys I've Loved Before". According to The Hollywood Reporter, Fimognari, who served as the director of photography on the 2018 film, will fill in for original director Susan Johnson. Due to scheduling conflicts, Johnson was unable to helm the follow-up but will be attached to the project as executive producer. The part two will see Anna Cathcart, Janel Parrish and John Corbett reprise their roles. The two leads -- Lana Condor and Noah Centineo -- are also returning as Lara Jean Covey and Peter Kavinski to take the on-screen teenage love story forward. Club FM, the radio division of the Mathrubhumi Group, has launched its seventh radio station in Alapuzha, the media group said Tuesday. The radio station was launched Monday, the birthday of popular Malayalam poet and lyricist Vayalar Ramavarma, a press release from the group said. TV monthly bills drop down under new rules: TRAI Chairman

The new tariff regime for television viewers will not increase monthly bills as service providers empower consumers to select channels of their choice, TRAI Chairman R S Sharma said on Tuesday.From April 1, viewers will pay only for the channels they want as new rules to curb the practice of bundling unwanted channels into bouquets come into force.According to new pricing regime by the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI), broadcasters, distributors and cable television operators must price each channel separately with the rate capped at Rs 19 each. The deadline was extended thrice to create awareness among subscribers.Sharma said the TRAI is collating data which will demonstrate that monthly bills do not increase. "On an average, 90 per cent of people's watch less than 50 channels. Uphaar tragedy: Delhi court issues non-bailable warrants against accused Sushil, Gopal Ansal

A Delhi court Tuesday issued Non Bailable Warrants (NBW) against accused Sushil Ansal and Gopal Ansal for alleged tampering of evidence in Uphaar cinema hall fire case. PTI URD Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Deepak Sherawat issued the NBWs against them. The court is hearing a case related to the tampering of evidence in the case after Krishnamoorthy, who lost two children in the fire, pressed for an early date contending it was a 10-year-old matter which has been already delayed. Krishnamoorthy has been fighting a legal battle on behalf of the victims' families for the last 20 years.
