Ben Affleck to star in, produce 'I Am Still Alive"
Actor Ben Affleck is set to star in and produce wilderness drama "I Am Still Alive". According to The Hollywood Reporter, the film is an adaptation of Kate Alice Marshall's novel of the same name. The story centres on a teenage girl who is forced to move in with her off-the-grid dad in the Canadian wilderness after her mother is killed in a car crash. But after an unfortunate event, the girl and her dog are forced to survive on their own. Affleck, 46, will play the father in the film, which he will produce through his Pearl Street Films. Lori Evans Taylor is set to write the script for the adaptation. Universal Pictures recently won a bidding war for the rights to develop a feature film. Affleck is currently filming for Gavin O'Connor's next, tentatively titled "Torrance". He plays a high school basketball coach recovering from addiction. Actor Ben Whishaw says he is not sure whether his James Bond films character 'Q' will return for the next film in the franchise. Actor Daniel Craig, who had earlier said that the 2015 "Spectre" marks his last outing as the famed British spy, will now play the iconic character for one last and final time. However, there is uncertainty over others characters such as Moneypenny, played by Naomi Harris, Whishaw's Q and Ralph Fiennes' M. Will Smith says Genie in 'Aladdin' remake will pay homage to Robin Williams
Actor Will Smith, who is taking on the role of Genie in Disney's live-action feature "Aladdin", says his version of the beloved character will be a "homage" to Robin Williams. Williams, who died in 2014, had voiced the character in Disney's animated musical in 1992. Smith, 50, said in an interview with Entertainment Weekly that he was initially "terrified" to accept the part. "Whenever you're doing things that are iconic, it's always terrifying. The question is always: where was there meat left on the bone? Robin didn't leave a lot of meat on the bone with the character," the actor said. Steve McQueen says top Hollywood bosses are scared to experiment with the films and do not want to explore diverse storylines. "I can't remember if there has ever been a movie about a gay person who is a detective or the lead in a romantic comedy who doesn't have a problem with their sexuality. How is that possible? 6th edition of Yuva Natya Samaroh to open today
The 6th edition of Yuva Natya Samaroh, a theatre festival of five young directors, will begin here Saturday with some of the best modern, mythological as well as Parsi style drama.
