Amy Adams says she based her portrayal of Lynne Cheney in 'Vice' on her grandmother
Actor Amy Adams has revealed that her performance as Lynne Cheney in the political satire "Vice" was inspired by her grandmother. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the 44-year-old actor recently appeared "Late Night With Seth Meyers" and during the show, she explained how she prepared for the role. "As I started researching her, there was something in her voice and something that sort of started to remind me of my grandmother... There was just something in the way she was raised. My grandmother was raised on a farm and there was a pioneering spirit," Adams said. "My grandma, she was tough. She told it how it was. There was no sugarcoating it," she added. Adams recalled that as a kid she used to help her grandmother in household chores and she never spoiled her in any way. "She was great, but tough. We did a lot of chores. Lithuania wraps tree in plastic to protest Christmas consumerism
Lithuanian artists on Thursday said they have placed a giant plastic bag over a fir tree in the capital Vilnius to warn against consumerism taking over the holiday season. "This is a Christmas tree but we are using it as a piece of art to protest against the negative effects of hyper-consumerism," reads the message printed on the plastic. Adorned with breathing masks, the art installation is located at the Vilnius railway station, which the city has turned into an alternative Christmas market this year. Actor Vishal detained for attempting to forcibly enter TFPC; rival group meets TN CM
High drama prevailed at the office of the Tamil Film Producers Council here Thursday when its president, actor Vishal Krishna, was detained by police for trying to forcibly enter its premises and reportedly attempting to break the lock put up by a rival faction. The rival faction of producers had locked up the premises on Wednesday, reportedly dissatisfied with the functioning of Vishal and his elected associates besides levelling allegations of irregularities, police said. The lock was finally opened by government authorities in the presence of a strong posse of policemen. Meanwhile, a section of producers, led by ace director Bharathirajaa, met Tamil Nadu Chief Minister K Palaniswami on the matter and sought the government's intervention to settle the dispute.
