Diego Luna to lead 'Star Wars' spin-off series
Actor Diego Luna is set to play the lead role in a new "Star Wars" series for Disney's upcoming streaming service. According to Variety, the show will be a prequel to "Rogue One: A Star Wars Story". The actor will reprise his role as rebel spy Cassian Andor, the cocky daredevil who helped Felicity Jones' Jyn Erso steal the 'Death Star' plans in the hit 2016 film. "Going back to the 'Star Wars' universe is very special for me. I have so many memories of the great work we did together and the relationships I made throughout the journey. We have a fantastic adventure ahead of us, and this new exciting format will give us the chance to explore this character more deeply," Luna said in a statement. The "Rogue One" prequel will be set in the early years of the Rebellion and is described as a "rousing spy thriller". Veteran Marathi actor Lalan Sarang dead
Noted Marathi actor and theatre personality Lalan Sarang died due to age-related ailments at a private hospital here on Friday, her family sources said. She was 79. Sarang is survived by son Rakesh and his family, they said. According to the sources, she was admitted to the hospital around a month back as she was suffering from age-related ailments. Sarang was born on December 26, 1938 in Mumbai into a middle class family, which had no background in cinema or theatre. She turned to theatre during her college days in Mumbai, where she participated in a play as part of a drama competition. Sarang is known for her roles in path-breaking plays, including "Sakharam Binder", "Gidhade", "Rathchakra" and "Kamla". She received several accolades for these roles. The All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK) workers on Thursday vandalised posters of 'Sarkar' movie in Coimbatore. Members of different wings of the AIADMK today staged protests here against Tamil film star Vijay's Diwali release 'Sarkar' for its reported reference to former chief minister J Jayalalithaa, besides the alleged depiction of certain government schemes in bad light.
