Disgraced Hollywood mogul Harvey Weinstein has been accused of sexually assaulting a Polish model and actor. According to People Magazine, the woman, identified as Jane Doe, has filed a lawsuit, claiming that former The Weinstein Company boss subjected her to abuse for over a decade beginning in 2002 when she was 16. The woman claimed she met Weinstein at an event, and then three days later, went to his apartment in the SoHo neighborhood of Manhattan for what she believed was a business lunch. The suit alleged that Weinstein "lured her to his apartment and sexually assaulted her, and he continued to emotionally abuse and sexually harass her for nearly a decade". She alleged Weinstein "aggressively and threateningly" demanded sexual relations with her and that he forced her to touch his genitals despite her protests, according to the court documents. Argentinian filmmaker Lucrecia Martel says the #MeToo movement is a powerful time for women where the men in the film industry will introspect and behave in a better way. The director, best known for her films such as "Zama" and "The Headless Woman", said the industry will only become safer thanks to the #MeToo movement. "What will happen now as a consequence of this is a lot of males will stop over-reaching... Many men within the industry will realise that this is not right and they'll stop behaving in this manner. Abdellatif Kechiche, the director of Palme d'Or-winning director of film "Blue Is the Warmest Colour", has been accused of sexual assault. According to Deadline, an anonymous woman has alleged that the 57-year-old director assaulted her at a dinner party in Paris in June. Paris' public prosecutor's office has opened an inquiry into the allegation which was brought to them on October 6 by the 29-year-old woman actor. Kechiche, who is currently shooting the sequel of "Mektoub, my Love: Canto Due", has categorically denied the allegation through his lawyer Jeremy Assous. In the past, actors Lea Seydoux and Adele Exarchopoulos, the stars of "Blue Is the Warmest Colour", had criticised the director for the uncomfortable sex scenes in the film. They had admitted that working with Kechiche was extremely difficult, which led some to question his handling of the sex scenes during production.
Satyajit Ray's epic masterpiece "Pather Panchali" has been included by BBC's 100 best foreign language films but it is the only film from India to feature in the list. Ray's film, released in 1955 and the first in his "Apu" trilogy, was placed at number 15 in the list, which has been topped by Akira Kurosawa's "Seven Samurai". The list was culled out from a poll where over 200 critics from 43 countries picked their best foreign language film. It all narrowed down to 100 films from 67 different directors, from 24 countries, and in 19 languages. Marvel Studios is planning a limited series on two of its popular superhero characters Falcon and Winter Soldier.
