Excited for 'Yubi Lupki': Omung Kumar on directing sports drama again
Omung Kumar is excited about his forthcoming directorial venture "Yubi Lukpi", a film based on Manipuri sport of the same name that is similar to rugby. The director, whose directorial debut was "Mary Kom", biopic on boxing champion MC Mary Kom, said he looking forward to revisit the Northeast. Set in Manipur, the film will centre on the local sport, which is played with coconuts. "Yubi Lukpi is a crazy thing, nobody knows about it and that is what is exciting. It is like, how do I make Indians aware that we also played rugby. Yubi Lukpi is played by Manipuri people with the coconut. They believe it originated from there," Kumar said in an interview here. Asked if he would cast some Manipuri actors in the film, the director said, "We are open to cast whoever suits the part. It is not just about who the star or actor is (in the film) but about the whole package.
'Stree' enters 100 cr club
Rajkummar Rao and Shraddha Kapoor starrer 'Stree' has entered the coveted Rs 100 crore club.The quirky horror- comedy has earned 101.43 crores at the box office within 16 days of its release, announced film critic and trade analyst, Taran Adarsh.Rajkummar also took to social media to thank fans for all the love with a 15-second video.The Amar Kaushik directorial is ruling over the box office with positive reviews from movie-goers.'Stree' is an interesting mix of horror with fun and is based on a true phenomenon. Yami Gautam has experienced failures in her career but she never feared being written off. The actor says she will keep giving her best till the time she fulfils her dreams. "When the films didn't work, I never feared being written off. I had other fears to deal with.
