Maroon 5 to sell 200 musical instruments
Popular American band 'Maroon 5' is all set to sell nearly 200 musical instruments which they owned in the past.The instruments, which include microphones, guitars, drum machines among several others, will be put up for sale online on Thursday.These are the instruments which the Adam Levine-led band brought onstage and also used during recording sessions throughout their two-decade-long career.Maroon 5's keyboardist and rhythm guitarist Jesse Carmichael, in a statement, said that these instruments were used in the formative years of the band and that it is now time to clear things out as a new phase has begun.Among the important items, a chrome wireless microphone which was used by the band's lead singer Adam Levine in 2007 will be on sale. A keyboard, which was played by Carmichael, will also be on sale. The keyboard belongs to the time when the members were in their teenage years and performed under the name Kara's Flowers.Also, a Miko keyboard- a custom-built keytar, a chord organ .
Damon Herriman to star in 'Once upon a time in Hollywood'
Legendary director Quentin Tarantino is all set to cast Australian actor Damon Herriman in his upcoming movie 'Once Upon a Time in Hollywood'.Entertainment Weekly reported that the actor will play the role of a cult leader, Charles Manson, in the movie.'Once Upon a Time in Hollywood' which features multiple storylines is a tribute to Hollywood's golden age. Apart from Herriman; Rumer Willis, Dreama Walker, Margaret Qualley and Lena Dunham are set to join the project.The movie is based on the life of Rick Dalton (Leonardo DiCaprio), a former star of a Western TV series, and his longtime stunt double, Cliff Booth (Brad Pitt). They struggle to make it big in a Hollywood they don't recognize anymore.The film is set in the backdrop of 1969 Los Angeles. It stars Margot Robbie, who is set to portray the role of Sharon Tate. Clu Gulager, James Landry Hebert, and 'Better Things' star Mikey Madison have also been roped into the project.The film is slated to release on July 26, 2019.

Tata Trusts condoles death of Nanadamuri Harikrishna
The Tata Trusts today condoled the death of actor-politician Nandamuri Harikrishna. The firm conveyed its condolences to Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu and his family on the demise of Harikrishna, Naidu's brother-in-law. In a release, the Trusts also announced postponement of the groundbreaking ceremony for its Sri Venkateswara Institute of Cancer Care and Advanced Research here by Naidu from August 30 to August 31.
Nicolas Cage announced as Talent Ambassador for Macau Film Festival
The Macau International Film Festival has named Hollywood actor Nicolas Cage as Talent Ambassador for its third annual edition in December this year.According to The Hollywood Reporter, organizers of the show said that this is an effort to bring together local and international industry professionals to highlight Macau's multi-dimensional culture and to expose the audience to the best international cinema.Cage, well known in Asia, even made an appearance at the Shanghai International Film Festival, earlier this year. In the Macau fest (December 8 to 14), Cage will walk the red carpet at the opening ceremony on December 9.One of the A-list names in Hollywood, Cage, in his 37-year acting career, has acted in around 75 films.

The Telugu film industry today mourned the demise of actor-politician Nandamuri Harikrishna who died in a car crash in Telangana's Nalgonda district. A play that showcased the agony of displaced Kashmiri pandits moved the audience at jampacked Abhinav theatre here. Poshgoandh (flower bouquet) was presented by director Mahraj K last night in the city. It portrayed the ground realities of disintegration of families due to migration, that left audience teary-eyed. "The play represents our lives, a journey from Kashmir to Jammu and agony, that we are going through now as old age people get no care," SantoshKumari, one in the audience, said. Amid cheers and applause, the audience was spellbound by the performances of the actors. All the actors performed brilliantly and left a mark on the audience. IOC launches LPG-powered iron box in TN
Istriwallahs no longer need to struggle with charcoal-fired iron box as the Indian Oil Corporation (IOC) today launched LPG-powered iron here. The iron box powered by 5 kg LPG cylinder would be cost-effective for those who press clothes on pushcarts on road sides and shops, compared to conventional coal-fired and electric irons. The cost of ironing using LPG-fuelled iron box would work out to a maximum of 50 paise per cloth as against Re one using charcoal iron box and Rs three for electric iron, IOC Executive Director, Tamil Nadu, R Sitharthan said at the launch. Besides, the LPG-fuelled iron box would also cut down on the preparatory and cleaning time by upto two hours compared to charcoal-based iron, he claimed. The LPG-powered iron box is priced at Rs 7,000. Costing around Rs 400 for the gas, the increase in productivity naturally results in an increase in profitability to the 'istriwallahs,' dealers and vendors, Sitharthan said. Ben Kingsley to star in drama series 'Our Lady, LTD'
Veteran actor Ben Kingsley is on board an Epix drama series, currently titled "Our Lady, LTD". According to Variety, the series is described as a modern noir drama that follows James, a young con artist, as he attempts to prey upon pastor Byron Brown (Kingsley), who turns out to be far more dangerous than he suspects. A 10-episode first season has been ordered by Epix. The shooting is set to begin late this year in Santa Fe, New Mexico. The series will be produced by MGM Television and internationally distributed by MGM. The makers are looking for a 2019 launch.
