'Crazy Rich Asians' sequel already in works

A sequel to 'Crazy Rich Asians' - the film which is making quite an impact globally - is already in development.Director Jon M. Chu as well as the creative team from the first movie, including screenwriters Peter Chiarelli and Adele Lim and producers Nina Jacobson, Brad Simpson and John Penotti, are set to return."It's our complete intention to do it," Penotti told Entertainment Weekly of the sequel potential before the news broke. "I think the audience response this weekend is extremely heartening. I think this weekend has given us terrific momentum to see more Crazy Rich Asians in the world."The sequel will be based on 'China Rich Girlfriend,' the second novel in Kevin Kwan's best-selling 'Crazy Rich Asians' series.'Crazy Rich Asians' is the first major studio movie to feature an all-Asian cast with Asian-American leads since 'The Joy Luck Club' 25 years ago.The Warner Bros. romantic comedy generated nearly USD 40 million in ticket sales during its first six days in theaters.

George Clooney is world's highest paid actor

Hollywood superstar George Clooney has been named Forbes' highest-paid actor.The 'Ocean's Eleven' star has beaten the likes of Scarlett Johansson, Dwayne Johnson and Robert Downey in the publication's 2018 list of highest earning actors.According to Forbes, "Thanks to the up to USD 1 billion purchase of his Casamigos Tequila (the company he founded with Rande Gerber and Mike Meldman in 2013), Clooney scored a career-high pretax paycheck of USD 239 million between June 1, 2017, and June 1, 2018."Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson (USD 124 million) ranks number two on the highest-paid actors' list. YouTube Music to present American Music Awards

YouTube Music has settled a two-year deal to become the first presenting sponsor of the American Music Award.According to Variety, following the deal, YouTube will be promoted as the exclusive platform to stream music, videos and live performances from AMAs. The award show will be broadcasted on October 9 on ET live.Confirming the deal, Angela Courtin, global head of marketing for YouTube Music TV and originals said that the partnership is a natural extension of artist-fan connection that the platform enables. Earlier this year, Google relaunched YouTube Music in both free (ad-supported) and premium version (add free).Unlike other jury-based awards, nominees in AMAs will be selected based on how the fans interact. First held in 1974, VMAs includes the award in categories including pop/rock, alternative rock, country, contemporary inspirational, adult contemporary and rap/hip-hop.

Entertainment One and China's Alibaba Pictures are all set to co-produce an all-new feature movie based on the beloved animated character of Peppa Pig.It is to be noted that Peppa Pig is considered an anti-social influence in China. 'Soorma' enters Bollywood Film Festival Norway

Filmmakers from Latin America and Spain have teamed up to create a new narrative of five short stories based on a common theme under the development project of Santiago International Film Festival, '28'.Stars, that participated from five countries, Chile, Mexico, Argentina, Brazil and Spain, will play off the themes of the 28-day female cycle, paralleled with the four-week lunar cycle, confirmed Variety.Ranging from classic slasher-thriller to sci-fi musical to psychological drama, each story will feature a female lead who will be meant to break the mold of the 'damsel in distress' trope in the horror genre.The script for the stories will be written by Sandra Arriagada and produced by the Luciano A.
