Netflix to launch second comic book franchise

Netflix is all set to launch its second comic-book franchise, 'Prodigy' by author Mark Millar.'Prodigy' will be illustrated by 'Batman' artist Rafael Albuquerque, with whom Millar had previously worked on the popular comic book 'Huck', confirmed The Hollywood Reporter.The franchise will revolve around Nobel prize-winning scientist Edison Crane, who is not satisfied by running the world's most successful business and wants to engage in constant challenge.Crane, who is also a genius composer and an Olympic-level athlete, will also be seen as addicted to the mysteries of the world as he is to sit at the numero-uno spot of the Fortune 500.'Prodigy' will hit the comic book stores via Image Comics and online on December 5 this year.

Trevor Donovan to star in World War II movie

American star Trevor Donovan is all set to feature in the World War II action movie, 'Wolf Hound'.Inspired by the real-life plot designed to fly Allied aircraft as Trojan horses, the movie will see the '90210' alum as a fighter pilot, German ace Major Erich Rall, confirmed Variety.The action takes place in 1944 when a fighter pilot escorts a bomber into the Nazi territory before engaging in a one-on-one aerial encounter with a Nazi ace pilot.Interestingly, Donovan's real-life grandfather had served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.Meanwhile, Donovan will also star in the upcoming action-comedy movie 'Hot Water', 'The Baxter Family,' and 'Runaway Romance'.

Benicio Del Toro to star in 'White Lies'

Academy award-winning actor Benicio Del Toro is all set to reteam with writer Oliver Stone for his next turn in the director's chair, 'White Lies'.The New York-set drama will offer an intimate exploration of family, loss, and love. The story will revolve around Jack (Del Toro), a child of divorce who repeats his parents' mistakes in his own marriage as well as with his troubled son.Feeling trapped, he then embarks on a lust-filled journey in order to free himself. However, Jack ends up becoming more lost. Kumaraswamy seeks PM Modi's intervention in Aero Show row

Music legend Aretha Franklin is "gravely ill" and surrounded by family and friends in Detroit, reports said Monday, as prayers and well wishes poured in for the Grammy-winning 'Queen of Soul'. The 76-year-old Franklin -- who influenced generations of pop divas with hits such as "Respect" (1967), "Natural Woman" (1968) and "I Say a Little Prayer" (1968) -- was said to be at a Detroit hospital and has asked that details of her condition not be made public. PVR's acquisition to combine brands strength: SPI cinemas CEO

Nineteen years after it redefined the concept of cinema-viewing in the city, SPI Cinemas, whose 71.69 per cent stake was acquired by PVR LTD, today said the deal would enable the brands' combined strength to transform movie-going experience. PVR, the country's largest multiplex chain, had yesterday acquired the stake for about Rs 633 crore in an all cash deal. SPI cinemas are owners of Sathyam Cinemas, one of the largest screen exhibitors in South India.
