Hero MotoCorp hikes 2-wheeler prices by up to Rs 1k to offset rising costs

Hero MotoCorp on Thursday said it has increased prices of its two-wheelers by up to Rs 1,000 to partially offset the impact of cost inflation. In a regulatory filing, the company said, it has made an upward revision in the ex-showroom prices of its motorcycles and scooters, with immediate effect. "The price revision has been necessitated to partially offset the impact of cost inflation," it said, adding, the hike "will be up to Rs 1,000 and the exact quantum of increase will vary by model and market". Hero MotoCorp sells a variety of motorcycles and scooters ranging from entry level bike 'HF 100' priced at Rs 55,450 to XPULSE 200 4V priced at Rs 1.36 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi).

Hero Moto ties up with HPCL to set up electric two-wheeler charging infra

Hero MotoCorp on Tuesday said it has joined hands with Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Ltd to set up charging infrastructure for electric two-wheelers in the country. As a part of the initiative, the two companies will first establish charging infrastructure at Hindustan Petroleum Corporation's (HPCL) existing network of stations, with the likelihood of subsequently broadening the collaboration for supplementary business opportunities. In the first phase, the charging stations will be set up in select cities, which will then be expanded to other key markets with the aim of establishing a high density of EV charging station network across the country, Hero MotoCorp said in a statement. The two-wheeler major will lead the infrastructure development for the charging network with each charging station featuring multiple fast chargers, including DC and AC chargers that will be available to all two-wheeled EVs, it added. Hero MotoCorp to enter EV segment, will launch 1st model under Vida brand

The country's largest two-wheeler maker Hero MotoCorp is all set to foray into the electric segment next month with the launch of its first model in the domestic market. In a regulatory filing, the company said that "a new era in mobility is about to begin" alluding to an event under its Vida brand on October 7, 2022. The two-wheeler major has issued invites to its dealers, investors and global distributors for the event to be held in Jaipur, Rajasthan. Industry sources confirmed that the company will launch its first EV product at the event. In March this year, Hero MotoCorp had said it has lined up a USD 100 million (around Rs 760 crore) global fund to nurture over 10,000 entrepreneurs on ESG (environmental, social and governance) solutions, including its upcoming electric vehicles (EVs). Hero MotoCorp total sales jumps 1.92% to 462,608 units in August

Hero MotoCorp on Thursday reported a 1.92 per cent increase in total sales at 4,62,608 units in August 2022. The company had sold 4,53,879 units in the year-ago period, Hero MotoCorp said in a regulatory filing. Domestic sales were at 4,50,740 units as compared to 4,31,137 units in August 2021, a growth of 4.55 per cent, it added. Exports, however, declined to 11,868 units from 22,742 units in the corresponding period of last year. Motorcycles sales were up at 4,30,799 units last month from 4,20,609 units in the preceding year, while scooter sales declined to 31,809 units against 33,270 units in August last year. Hero MotoCorp said it expects the growth momentum to build up in the coming months on the back of a normal festive season after a gap of two years, better monsoon resulting in decent agricultural harvest and positive consumer sentiments besides a healthy growth in the country's GDP.
