Haryana to develop Madhogarh Fort

Haryana Minister Ram Bilas Sharma has said the Madhogarh Fort in Mahendragarh would be developed on the pattern of the Mughal Gardens in Pinjore Disclosing this while presiding over a meeting of officers of the Tourism Department in Mahendragarh, today, Sharma said developing the Madhogarh Fort as tourism site was his dream project, and would not be allowed to suffer shortage of funds. With the completion of the Madhogarh-Mahendragarh-Narnaul-Rewari Heritage Circuit, the pace of development would be accelerated in southern Haryana, he said. This circuit would not only benefit Mahendragarh and Rewari districts, but also the neighbouring districts of Bhiwani and Gurugram as the youth of these areas would get ample direct and indirect job opportunities, the minister said. Army women mountaineers perform Yoga at 19,022 ft

In a fitting message ahead of the International Yoga Day, a team of nine women officers of the Indian Army scaled Bhagirathi-II peakin Uttarakhand and performed yoga at a height of 19,022 ft on way to the summit. Colonel Omender K Pawar, under whose guidance the mountaineering expedition was carried out, claimed it was a record in itself as the team consisting of nine women officers did not just summit the peak on May 29 but also performed yogaat the camp at a height of 19,022 feet. They set a new world record of performing Yoga at the highest altitude, breaking the previous World record of Yoga at 18,800ft in Siachen Glacier area (as per Limca Book of Records) which also stands in the name of the Indian Army, Col Pawar said. He claimed it was the first-ever team of women doing yoga at such analtitude anywhere in the world.

Focus on developing budget hotels in Telganana: TSTDC Chairman

Telangana State Tourism Development Corporation Chairman P Bhupathi Reddy today said his focus is on developing budget hotels in all 31 districts of the state to provide affordable accommodation to tourists. Reddy, who recently assumed charge as TSTDC chairman,told reporters here among his priorities and focus would be to develop a budget hotel at each district of Telangana. To attract more tourists, efforts would be made to beautify lakes and provide boating facilities as it would increase the footfall to the state, he said. Reddy thanked Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao for making him the TSTDC Chairmanand said he would develop tourism activities to be on par with his expectations and increase revenue of Telangana Tourism. Beware! Delhi govt finds some restro bars, clubs serving 'expired beer'

Before you gulp down your favourite brand of beer at a restro bar or a club in the city, make sure to check the expiry date on the bottle as the Delhi government has found some establishments serving "expired beer" to customers. The Excise department has found nine prominent venues in popular hangout spots like Hauz Khas, New Friends Colony and Connaught Place serving "expired beer" during surprise inspections between August 19, 2017 and April 13, 2018. Restro bar is a commonly used phrase that means a restaurant which serves alcoholic drinks and has characteristics of a bar or nightclub. In a written response to a question asked by AAP MLA Vishesh Ravi in the Delhi Assembly, the Excise Department said 214 pubs, bars and restaurants were inspected by its Enforcement Branch during the past year and of these, 94 restro bars were found violating excise rules. Theme park fever grips Indians; bookings to double by 2024

As theme parks continue to fascinate Indian travellers, bookings to such destinations have grown considerably and the demand is likely to double in the next five years, according to industry experts. "There has been an increase of about 13 per cent in the bookings for domestic theme parks compared to 2017, whereas, we continue to witness an increase of close to 18 per cent for international parks," Cox and Kings head, relationships, Karan Anand told PTI. SDMC to develop 100 parks on gram sabha lands, revive 15 water bodies

Hundred parks would be developed on gram sabha lands in south Delhi, a senior civic official said, as two such parks made on wastelands were inaugurated by Lt Governor Anil Baijal at Jaunapur area today. Baijal said children residing in the area will be benefited from these parks as they will enjoy swings and open gym facilities installed by the South Delhi Municipal Corporation (SDMC). He also asked SDMC Commissioner P K Goel to develop more such parks and plant saplings in this monsoon season, the SDMC said in a statement today. At a function held for the inauguration of the 3.33 acre park near MCD school, Jaunapur village, Goel said, the SDMC will develop "100 such parks on gram sabha lands". "SDMC will also revive at least 15 water bodies in coming days and Jaunapur Talab near the inaugurated parks will be the first one," he said.
