World's oldest man dies at 113
The world's oldest man died in the early hours of Sunday at his home in Japan at the age of 113.According to a report published in Guardian, Masazo Nonaka died of natural causes while sleeping at an inn run by his family.Born in 1905, Nonaka operated the inn situated in Japan's northern main island of Hokkaido, which is now managed by his granddaughter."We feel shocked at the loss of this big figure. He was, as usual, yesterday and passed away without causing our family any fuss at all," Fox News quoted his granddaughter as saying.Married in 1931, Nonaka had five children. During his long life, he outlived his wife and three of their five children.According to the local media, he was a fan of sumo wrestling and was fond of eating sweets.Nonaka was recognised as the world's oldest living man after the death of Spaniard Francisco Nunez Olivera in 2017.
Man mauled to death by lions at zoo near Chandigarh
A man was mauled to death by lions on Sunday at Chhatbir Zoo in Zirakpur, around 20 km from Chandigarh. According to zoo officials, the man entered the enclosure by scaling an over-25-feet wall and as soon as he crossed over, he was attacked by two lions. Officials said the incident happened at 2.20 pm and the man, who is in his early 30s, was yet to be identified. "The injury on his neck was deep. He was taken to civil hospital in a critical condition where he died," said the zoo's field director M Sudhagarb. A lion and a lioness were in the enclosure, he said, adding the female lion attacked the man first. The official said the man might have entered the zoo through the Ghaggar bandh area, which was also known as the jungle area. "He then scaled the wall and must have fallen inside the enclosure," Sudhgarb said. He claimed that the man was not a visitor. "We suspect that he was drunk as it is impossible for a normal person to scale the boundary wall, which is so high," the official .

Holocaust victims buried after remains found in UK museum
The remains of six unidentified Holocaust victims have been buried at a Jewish cemetery after spending years in storage at a British museum. The Imperial War Museum found the ashes and bone fragments during a stock-taking last year. They had been given to the museum, along with other items from the Auschwitz concentration camp, by an anonymous donor in 1997. Tests determined the remains belonged to five adults and a child. Hundreds of mourners watched as they were buried Sunday at a cemetery outside London, in a coffin with earth from Israel. Man arrested with nearly 50 kg beef in Rajasthan
A 26-year-old man was arrested with nearly 50 kg beef in Bharatpur district of Rajasthan Sunday, police said. The accused, Eeshvu Kasai, had brought the beef from Haryana to sell in Bhauri village, Station House Officer (SHO) Ramnath Singh said. A veterinary doctor confirmed it was beef, he said. In the past, the Bravery Awards were organised by an NGO, named Indian Council for Child Welfare (ICCW), but recently, the financial integrity of the ICCW was questioned by the Delhi High Court during the hearings of a writ petition. In view of this, the government dissociated itself from the NGO and revamped the scheme of the National Awards for children last year to include bravery as an additional component in the Pradhan Mantri National Children Awards.
