Rupam Roy elected general secy of All-India State Bank Officers' Federation

All-India State Bank Officers' Federation (AISBOF) on Sunday said members of the union have elected Rupam Roy as its general secretary for a period of three years. The election took place at the union's 29th Triennial General Council held at Hyderabad, AISBOF said in a statement. In the elections held on Sunday, Arun Kumar Bishoyi and Rupam Roy were re-elected unanimously as president and general secretary of AISBOF for the triennial period 2025-2028, reaffirming the overwhelming confidence of the membership in their leadership, it said. Several important resolutions were adopted to strengthen the Federation's role in protecting the interests of its members in general and the society at large, it said. The event was also graced by SBI managing director Vinay M Tonse and Kishore Kumar Poludasu Deputy Managing Director (HR), it added.

GMR Hyderabad International Airport acquires 70% stake in Logistics Park

GMR Airports Ltd on Thursday said its subsidiary GMR Hyderabad International Airport Ltd has completed the acquisition of 70 per cent stake in its associate company -- ESR GMR Logistics Park Pvt Ltd. GMR Hyderabad Aerotropolis Ltd (GHAL), a wholly-owned subsidiary of GMR Hyderabad International Airport, already holds a 30 per cent stake in ESR GMR Logistics Park Pvt Ltd (EGLPPL). EGLPPL, an associate company of GMR Hyderabad International Airport, is into development of warehousing and logistics parks in Hyderabad. For the transaction, GMR Hyderabad International Airport had entered into a share purchase agreement with other shareholders. "... Upon fulfilment of conditions precedent, the process of transfer of share and exchange of consideration between the GHIAL and ESR Group has been concluded," GMR Airports said in a regulatory filing on Thursday. Air India flight from Hyderabad to Mumbai cancelled due to technical snag

A Mumbai-bound Air India flight from Hyderabad with 92 passengers on board was grounded and subsequently cancelled on Friday due to a technical glitch, airport sources said. After boarding, a technical snag was noticed following which the passengers were deplaned and accommodated in another Air India flight, they said. "AI 2534 to Mumbai was cancelled due to technical reasons," the sources said.

'Bomb threat' diverted Lufthansa flight lands at Hyderabad from Frankfurt

A Lufthansa flight to Hyderabad that was forced to make a U-turn and return to land at Frankfurt Airport due to a bomb threat landed in the Telangana capital on Monday night local time. A passenger on board told PTI that the plane had landed safely, with the pilot apologising for the inconvenience caused by the delay due to matters beyond their control. "The flight took off and is expected to land at 23:18 hrs, Lufthansa said in response to a query earlier. Flight tracker website Flightaware.Com data showed Sunday's aborted flight en route to Rajiv Gandhi International Airport in Hyderabad. SC grants interim protection to former SIB chief in phone tapping case

The Supreme Court on Thursday granted interim protection from coercive action to former chief of Special Intelligence Bureau (SIB) in Telangana T Prabhakar Rao, an accused in the phone-tapping case. A bench comprising Justices B V Nagarathna and Satish Chandra Sharma directed Rao to appear before the investigation officer, and said his passport be made available to him. Rao, the key accused in the phone-tapping case, is suspected to be in the US. A Red Corner Notice was issued against him and his passport was revoked, a police official said earlier. The top court also directed Rao to give an undertaking that he would return to India within three days after the receipt of his passport. During the hearing, Solicitor General Tushar Mehta and senior advocate Sidharth Luthra vehemently opposed the plea filed by Rao seeking anticipatory bail. GMR Airports Ltd on Wednesday said its subsidiary GMR Hyderabad International Airport Ltd will buy 70 per cent stake in its associate company ESR GMR Logistics Park Pvt Ltd for a little over Rs 41 crore. Multi-disciplinary team to submit report on Hyderabad fire: Minister

The Telangana government has asked five departments, including fire and police, to go into the devastating fire in a building that left 17 people dead and submit a report, state Transport Minister Ponnam Prabhakar said on Monday. The officials of Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC), fire, police, revenue department and the Hyderabad Disaster Response and Asset Protection Agency (HYDRAA) would jointly probe the tragedy and submit a report to the government, Prabhakar, in-charge minister for Hyderabad, told PTI. The officials are expected to visit the building near the Charminar on Monday and have already submitted a preliminary report on the incident. As many as 13 people, including four children, were killed in a massive fire that broke out at a building in Gulzar House near the historic Charminar on Sunday. A senior official of a private hospital here told PTI that eight people were brought dead. Unfortunately 8 patients were brought dead to Yashoda Hospital, Malakpet, hospital sources said. The deceased include two childrenaged two and seven besides three women, the sources said. Apollo Hospitals in a statement said they received five people with burn and inhalation injuries and all were declared brought dead.
