Sajjan Jindal-led JSW Steel on Friday said its consolidated crude steel production rose by 2.3 per cent to 7.03 million tonnes (MT) in the third quarter of the current fiscal. The company's steel output was 6.87 MT in the year-ago period, JSW Steel said in a filing to BSE. The company's Indian operation's crude steel production rose by 3 per cent to 6.82 MT, over 6.63 MT in the year-ago period, the filing said. Capacity utilisation at Indian operations excluding trial run stood at 91 per cent for the third quarter of the ongoing financial year. "Production and capacity utilisation for the quarter was affected due to temporary maintenance activity at one of the Blast furnaces at Dolvi in the month of October, which resumed normal operations in the first week of November," the company said. JSW Energy on Monday said it has secured multiple renewable energy projects in the commercial and industrial power market, achieving a total locked-in generation capacity of 20 GW. The company's locked-in renewable energy commercial and industrial (C&I) capacity stood at 3.1 GW, which includes 2,654 MW of JSW group captive capacity and 445 MW of third-party C&I capacity, a JSW Energy statement said. Currently, the operational C&I capacity of the company stood at 488 MW, it informed. The company's step-down subsidiaries have executed power purchase agreements (PPAs) with DCM Shriram Ltd and Indus Towers Ltd for the supply of renewable energy. Telecom infrastructure company Indus Towers on Friday said it will acquire a 26 per cent stake in JSW Green Energy Eight for Rs 38.03 crore to procure renewable energy from a solar PV plant. Indus Towers will receive 130 MW of renewable energy from a solar photovoltaic (PV) power plant, according to a regulatory filing. Haier Group, a leading Chinese appliances manufacturer, has plans to set up a joint venture with India's JSW Group envisaging a proposed investment of Rs 1,000 crore, sources said. The proposal of Shandong-based Haier Group has been submitted to the government as it attracts Press Note 3 of 2020, under which all firms in countries that share land borders with India need mandatory government approval. The source said the proposal was put up before the committee that scrutinises such applications. There is an inter-ministerial committee headed by the Home Secretary to consider applications under the press note. Countries which share land borders with India are China, Bangladesh, Pakistan, Bhutan, Nepal, Myanmar and Afghanistan. An email query sent to both companies remained unanswered. Vehicle manufacturer JSW Green Mobility has been allotted 636 acres of land in the Bidkin node of AURIC city and the plant will go into production in the next 12 to 18 months, an official said. After allotting 827 acres of land to Toyota Kirloskar Motors Private Limited, the administration has issued land to another vehicle production company in the Bidkin node of AURIC (Aurangabad Industrial City). The administration has issued 636 acres of land to JSW Green Mobility company in the Bikdin node. The land allotment certificate was issued online by the Maharashtra Industrial Township Limited (MITL) on Thursday, an official said. JSW Ventures, an arm of diversified conglomerate JSW Group, on Monday said it has picked up a stake in drone technology entity Aereo for USD 1.8 million. Aereo uses drone technology and AI-driven data analytics to help clients in asset management in sectors including mining and infrastructure, a statement by JSW Ventures said. The company raised the funds as part of Series B funding round. Aereo, which is delivering operating profits, will be utilising the funds for strengthening its offerings and also expanding into international markets, it said.
