Infrastructure major Larsen & Toubro (L&T) on Monday said its power business has bagged a "significant" order from NTPC to set up flue gas desulphurisation system at Vindhyachal Super Thermal Power Station in Madhya Pradesh. L&T has received engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) order to set up flue-gas desulphurisation (FGD) system at Vindhyachal Super Thermal Power Station at stage-I & II (6x210 mega watt (MW) & 2x500 MW, the company said in a BSE filing. This is in continuation to the order received for Stage III 0 IV (2x500 MW 0 2x500 MW) in September last year, it added. The company did not provide value of the contracts but said the orders fall under "significant" category which ranges between Rs 1,000 crore and Rs 2,500 crore as per its classification of contracts. Infrastructure major Larsen and Toubro (L&T) on Wednesday said it plans to raise up to Rs 1,400 crore through issuance of non-convertible debentures (NCDs) on private placement basis. The company, however, did not elaborate on the reasons for raising funds. "The company proposes to issue rated, listed, unsecured, redeemable non-convertible debentures aggregating up to Rs 1,400 crore on private placement basis," L&T said in a regulatory filing. Shares of L&T were trading 1.32 per cent higher at Rs 1,331.10 apiece on BSE.

Infrastructure major Larsen and Toubro (L&T) on Thursday acquired over 4.5 lakh shares of Mindtree from open market, taking its shareholding in the IT services firm to 26.93 per cent, according to a regulatory filing. "Larsen and Toubro Ltd has acquired 4,50,687 equity shares (with a face value of Rs 10 each) of Mindtree Ltd on May 23, 2019," a Mindtree filing said. After the latest transaction, L&T's shareholding in Mindtree stands at 26.93 per cent. The latest stock purchase was made at Rs 979.91 apiece. Larsen & Toubro (L&T) today said its construction arm has won orders worth Rs 1,296 crore across business segments in the domestic market. L&T said its metallurgical and material handling business has received orders worth Rs 808 crore. The company's water and effluent treatment business also bagged an order worth Rs 488 crore. "Water and effluent treatment business has won an order worth Rs 488 crore from Karnataka Power Corporation Ltd for the execution of a water supply pipeline from Narayanpur reservoir to Kushtagi in the Krishna basin," the engineering and construction major said in a BSE filing. The scope includes supply and laying of water supply pipe lines including all electro mechanical works. This project aims to augment water requirements for their existing power plant at Bellary, it added. Shares of Larsen & Toubro were trading at Rs 1,294.25 apiece, up 0.22 per cent, from the previous close on BSE.

Larsen and Toubro Hydrocarbon Engineering today said it has signed a 5-year framework agreement with Shell for engineering, procurement and construction management services. "L&T Hydrocarbon Engineering, a fully-owned subsidiary of Larsen & Toubro, has signed an enterprise framework agreement with Shell Global Solutions International for providing engineering, procurement and construction management services," Larsen and Toubro said in a BSE filing. The company said the order, for five years, is for Shell projects in the Middle-East, South-East Asia and India.
