A 15-year-old girl was allegedly raped by a man when she was alone at her house in a village here, police said today. The incident took place in Kulhedi village in the Charthawal police station area yesterday. According to Station House Officer V C Tiwari, police registered a case against Zubair (21)and arrested him based on a complaint filed by the girl's father, who alleged the accused rape his daughter when she as alone at their house.
In a shocking act of violence, a young couple was recently thrashed by their families in Madhya Pradesh's Hardaspur, after the couple had eloped to get married.The family of the woman was allegedly not happy with the marriage and, hence, they abducted their son-in-law and daughter before thrashing them.The woman was stripped and her hair was chopped off. The couple was also forced to drink urine.Reflecting on the incident, the man said, "They did this as we had eloped and got married."The police have been informed and a case registered against six. A four-month-old boy died on Tuesday evening after facing health issues onboard a Patna-bound Indigo flight, which was forced to make an emergency landing at the Rajiv Gandhi Hyderabad International Airport here, the police said.According to the Circle Inspector, RGI Airport Police Station, the Indigo flight was flying from Andhra Pradesh's Nellore district to Patna and was forced to make an emergency landing at the airport at around 8 pm, after some health issue of the infant raised onboard.Immediately after landing, the four-month-old boy was rushed to a private hospital, where the doctors declared him brought dead.The body was later shifted to a government hospital for post mortem.A case has been registered under Section 174 of The Code Of Criminal Procedure (CrPC) and further investigation is on.
The Delhi Police today suspended the station house officer of Saket police station after he was arrested along with an advocate by the CBI on bribery charges. Earlier in the day, on getting inputs, the Central Bureau of Investigation carried out a raid and found advocate Neeraj Walia allegedly paying Rs 2-lakh bribe to SHO Neeraj Kumar on behalf of Unitech Ltd. Both were arrested, officials said. A senior police officer said the Delhi Police takes a strict view of such incidents and has placed Kumar under suspension. "An inquiry has been initiated and after the report is received, strict action will be taken against Kumar," he added. It is alleged that the Saket district court had referred 47 cases related to Unitech to the Saket police station for a probe. The firm was allegedly making regular payments to the SHO to "manage" these cases, officials said. The central probe agency also booked the real estate firm's founder, Ramesh Chandra, in the case. In two separate incidents, Emergency Response Vehicle (ERV) staff posted at Govindpuri and Okhla Industrial area chased and subsequently apprehended two gangs of robbers who were allegedly trying to flee after robbing people, Deputy Commissioner of Police (southeast) Chinmoy Biswal said. On July 30, Pankaj Kumar, who workes in a private firm at Okhla, complained to police that at around 7 PM when he was returning home after work, three unknown men stopped him at Okhla Estate Marg and looted his mobile phone, he said All the accused fled towards Tughlakabad, Biswal said. Subsequently, an ERV passing from the road started chasing the accused trying to abscond. A 25-year-old woman was allegedly threatened by a man and his son over parking in Dwarka's Mahavir Enclave, the police said today. An argument broke out between the woman and Jitendra Sahni and his son, Dhiren, after she came out of a parking lot near her residence, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Dwarka) Anto Alphonse said. Jitender held the woman's hand and threatened her that he was in the CBI and would teach her a lesson, the DCP said, adding that the two misbehaved with her. Jharkhand Chief Minister Raghubar Das today ordered a CID probe into the allegations by a minor girl that she was raped by some persons, including two police officers, and then blackmailed by them, an official release said here. The direction for the CID probe came during the 'Sidhi Baat' programme of the chief minister when the girl, a resident of Jamshedpur, complained to him that she was raped by the accused who also made a video to blackmail her. She accused three persons along with MGM police station in-charge and a deputy superintendent of police rank officer of rape, the release said. Jamshedpur Superintendent of Police Anoop Birtharay said in the release that three persons were arrested and sent to judicial custody while a probe is on into the alleged involvement of the two police officers into the crime. Following this, the chief minister assured the girl of justice and ordered the CID probe, it said.

In a suspected case of gang rivalry, a 46-year-old property dealer was allegedly shot dead by unknown assailants in front of an apartment in northwest Delhi today, police said. The deceased has been identified as Surya Prakash, an accused in murder and extortion cases. The incident occurred at around 5.30 pm in Ashok Vihar. Prakash was was taken to a private hospital where he succumbed to injuries, a police officer said. It is suspected to be a case of gang rivalry, the officer said, adding that investigations were underway.
Bodies of a young couple, who had married a few months ago, was found on railway track near Fazalganj stadium here today, GRP sources said. It appeared that they were run over by a train. The victims were identified as Dharmendra Kumar (24) and Pooja Devi (20), residents of Adarsh Colony under Sasaram Town police station area. Kumar's motor-cycle was later found parked nearby, police said adding that investigations were on to ascertain whether it was an accident or a case of suicide, the sources said.
Doctors at state-run hospital here today removed nine needles inserted into the throat of a 14-year-old girl, a senior official of the medical establishment said. The needles were stuck inside the throat of Aparupa Biswas, a resident of Krishnanagar of Nadia district, apparently by a tantrik and it took around three hours for a team of doctors to get those out. Initially the doctors were of the opinion that the girl had swallowed the needles. "But it was later found out that the needles were actually inserted inside her throat from outside as a part of some kind of tantrik ritual," a senior doctor of the NRS Hospital, where she was treated, said. The family members did not want to disclose the cause of the needles getting inside the girl's throat, he said. A four-month-old boy developed breathing problem onboard a Patna-bound flight and died at the Hyderabad airport today, police said. The baby was travelling with his parents from Bengaluru in an Indigo flight when he developed breathing problem, they said. The airline said the crew of the flight 6E 897 decided to divert it to Hyderabad and requested for an ambulance and a doctor at the airport. On landing, the boy was rushed to a private hospital where the doctors declared him brought dead, the police said. The police registered a case under section 174 of the CrPC. Sources at the airport told PTI that the flight was diverted to the Hyderabad Airport at around 7.30 am. Jailed former Bangladesh premier Khaleda Zia was today granted bail by a court in two cases related to her fake date of birth and for undermining the national flag. Zia, who is in her seventies, is serving a five-year jail term after a court convicted her in February for embezzlement of foreign donations meant for an orphanage named after her husband and Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) founder and slain president Ziaur Rahman, while holding the post of the prime minister during 2001-06. "The judge (of Metropolitan Sessions Judges Court) granted her bail in two cases one related to her 'fake birth dates' and the other for 'undermining' the national flag," a prosecution lawyer said. "The charges brought against her in these cases are bailable," justice Imrul Kayes said while granting her bail. A division bench of justices C T Selvam and AM Basheer Ahamed asked whether "this is democratic Tamil Nadu or a police raj state". The bench directed the Tuticorin collector to be present tomorrow and explain as to how the NSA could be slapped on Raghavan, a functionary of 'Makkal Athigaram' under the NSA. The court took note of a habeas corpus petition filed by Raghavan's wife. Makkal Athigaram, a Left-wing outfit, was suspected to be behind the anti-Sterlite agitation in May, following which 92 cases were filed against Raghavan. The court had granted him conditional bail on July 24. As many as 242 cases had been filed in connection with the agitation in May that turned violent and led to police firing which claimed 13 lives.
