The Congress on Thursday staked claim to form the government in Manipur and wrote to the Governor calling for a floor test to prove their majority in the state Assembly
The total strength against the chief minister is now 29 -- 20 from Congress, 4 from NPP, 3 from BJP (who quit on Wednesday), one from TMC and an Independent.
TMC MLA T Robindro Singh and Independent MLA Ashabuddin too have withdrawn their support
NPF leaders said the decision was taken because the party was looked down upon by the BJP
This is the second attempt by the government to clear away the street vendors
