The Noida Metro Rail Corporation (NMRC), which operates the Noida-Greater Noida Metro, on Tuesday said it has invited feedback from public and service providers to improve commuters' travel experience. For this, the NMRC has floated a questionnaire which will be available both online and offline at some key stations for feedback from May 25 to June 24, it said. NMRC said it has recently been assigned the status of nodal authority for mobility services in Noida and the Greater Noida region. Delhi Metro services will be curtailed on a section of the Airport Express Line for two hours in the morning of April 30 owing to a scheduled track maintenance work, officials said on Friday. The work will be undertaken between the Dhaula Kuan and Delhi Aerocity section of the corridor from 5:30 am to 7:30 am, they said. Owing to this, services on this line will be run in a curtailed manner for these two hours. Trains will be run on a single line between Dhaula Kuan and Airport (T-3) metro stations when the work is underway on another track. Normal train movement will be maintained from Airport to Dwarka-21 and Dhaula Kuan to New Delhi sections, the DMRC said in a statement. A woman and her two-and-half year-old son were killed after an under-construction pillar of the "Namma Metro" (Bengaluru Metro) on Outer Ring Road near HBR Layout here collapsed, police said on Tuesday. According to police, the incident took place around 11 am, when the TMT bars erected for the construction of a pillar fell on their scooter. The height of the pillar is said to be over 40 feet and weighing several tonnes. The deceased were immediately rushed to a nearby hospital by the bystanders. Delhi Metro will perform extra train trips by extending its last timing by about 30 to 45 minutes on all lines, barring the Airport Express line, to facilitate spectators reach the Ferozshah Kotla Ground for a ODI match on Tuesday. "In anticipation of the sudden rush expected at these nearby metro stations after the match is over, the Delhi Metro will be performing extra train trips (around 48) by extending its last train timings by about 30-45 minutes on all lines," the statement said. It will enable spectators to reach their destinations smoothly by using the Metro, it added.
Services have been affected on the Delhi Metro's Blue line on Wednesday due to a technical snag, Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) officials said. "Blue Line Update: Delay in services from Dwarka Sector 21 to Noida Electronic City/Vaishali. Normal service on all other lines," the DMRC tweeted around 7.15 am to alert commuters. The metro services on the line have been affected due to a technical glitch, sources at DMRC said. Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday inaugurated phase-1 of the Ahmedabad Metro rail project between Thaltej and Vastral. He inaugurated the metro rail stretch on the city's East-West corridor from Kalupur station, where he reached in the Vande Bharat Express train that he flagged off from Gandhinagar railway station in the morning. The prime minister waved a green flag to the metro train at Kalupur railway station. With this, the 21-km corridor of the project between Thaltej and Vastral with 17 stations became operational. This corridor has a 6.6 km underground section with four stations, the Gujarat Metro Rail Corporation (GMRC) said in a release.
