All schools in Delhi and its adjoining NCR cities of Gurugram and Noida will be closed on Monday in view of torrential rains in the region, according to officials. Most parts of north and northwest India, including the national capital region, received torrential rains from Saturday, leading to waterlogging, flash floods, house collapses and human fatalities. Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal said a notice has been sent to the head of schools in the city, saying that all government and private schools will remain closed for students on Monday. However, teachers have been directed to go to schools as usual. UP RERA asks Ajnara Realtech to complete stuck project by June 2025

Real estate regulator in Uttar Pradesh has asked realty firm Ajnara Realtech to complete its stalled housing project in Greater Noida, comprising nearly 600 flats, by June 2025. The project 'Ajnara Le Garden Phase-3', located in Noida Extension (Greater Noida -West), was launched in 2014 but could not be completed. There are 585 flats in four towers in this project, of which 476 units have been sold to customers. In a statement, the Uttar Pradesh Real Estate Regulatory Authority (UP-RERA) on Monday said it has authorised Ajnara Realtech, the existing promoter of the Ajnara Le-Garden Phase-3 project, to complete the remaining construction. The promoter has been given time till June 2025 to complete the remaining construction work and ensure possession of homes to 476 allottees, it said. AltF Coworking starts 2 centres with 1,600 office desks in Noida, Gurugram

AltF Coworking has started two new centres with a total capacity of nearly 1,600 desks in Noida and Gurugram as part of its expansion plan amid rising demand for flexible workspace from corporates. The company has signed up 1.5 lakh square feet area in a office building at Sector 142, Noida, having a total capacity of around 3,000 desks. It has already made operational 970 seats from the beginning of this month and will open the rest in the coming months. Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Sunday batted for the freedom of media as he recalled June 25, 1975, as a "black day" in the history of Indian democracy -- when the nationwide emergency was imposed by the Indira Gandhi-led government. Saya Group to invest Rs 2,000 cr in 1.4 mn sq ft-shopping mall in Noida

Realty firm Saya Group will invest Rs 2,000 crore to develop a 14 lakh square feet shopping mall in Noida as part of its expansion plan, its CMD Vikas Bhasin said on Wednesday. The construction work has started and the shopping mall 'Saya Status' is expected to be operational in January 2025. "We are developing the country's tallest mall in Sector 128, Noida Expressway. The total built up area is 14 lakh square feet while the leasable area is 11 lakh square feet," Bhasin told reporters. The height of the 9-floor shopping mall is around 160 square feet, the company said. The company will keep 70 per cent area in the mall and sell 30 per cent area to investors. The company however will retain the leasing rights. Asked about investment, Bhasin said the total cost will be around Rs 2,000 crore, including expenditure on land, construction and marketing. 86% households in Noida, 94% in UP experience daily power cuts: Survey

Eighty-six per cent of the households in Noida and 94 per cent in Uttar Pradesh have experienced daily power outages in the ongoing month of June, according to a survey by a social media platform. The findings are based on responses from over 14,000 respondents located in 56 of the 75 districts of the state, the survey conducted by LocalCircles said. According to the survey, 94 per cent of households in Uttar Pradesh surveyed say they have been facing power outages daily in June. Also, 65 per cent of those surveyed in Uttar Pradesh are facing power outages three or more times on average every day, it claimed. Overall in Uttar Pradesh, six per cent of the respondents stated that they have no knowledge as we have 24X7 power backup, the survey found. Plan in 2 weeks to resolve stuck up Noida housing projects: UP officer

A plan to resolve the logjam between stakeholders of group housing projects in Noida, Greater Noida is expected in two weeks, a senior Uttar Pradesh government officer said on Monday. According to officials, a meeting of Noida Authority, Greater Noida, bank representatives and real estate developers was held here on May 20 to discuss an action plan for "stuck up" housing projects in the region. During the meeting, some of the bankers also expressed their concern over the region's "declining feasibility" in terms of investment in future, an official, who attended the meeting, told PTI on condition of anonymity. Noida Police rounds up 135 history-sheeters in overnight raids: Official

The Noida Police on Thursday rounded up 135 history-sheeters and anti-social elements in a major operation to check criminal activities in the region, a senior officer said. Those rounded up were let off by the police in the morning after a detailed verification of their current whereabouts, financial sources, and professions, they said. The raids started around 11 pm on Wednesday and continued overnight despite intense rains and thundering in the early hours of Thursday, he said. Realty firm Group 108 signs MoU to invest Rs 2,000 crore in Noida

Realty firm Group 108 on Wednesday said it has proposed to invest Rs 2,000 crore to develop new projects in Noida and Greater Noida as part of its expansion plan. The company, earlier part of Bhutani Group and now re-branded as Group 108, is currently developing a 40 lakh square feet commercial project 'Grandthum' in Greater Noida (West). "We have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) at UP investment summit to invest Rs 2000 crore in the development of real estate projects," Group 108 MD Amish Bhutani told reporters here. He said the company is in talks with landowners to buy land for development of commercial and residential projects at Noida and Greater Noida. Bhutani said the ongoing commercial project, spread over 23 acres, will get completed by March 2024. 58,685 challans issued during traffic campaign in Noida, 1K vehicles seized

A total of 58,685 challans -- an average of over 3,900 daily -- were issued for violation of traffic rules in Noida and Greater Noida during a 15-day campaign, according to data. Police also seized nearly 1,000 vehicles during the drive. Launched on April 28, the 'Discipline of the Road 1' campaign focused particularly on checking wrong-lane driving and illegal parking, among other violations, a senior official said. According to the official data, 58,685 challans were issued during the campaign period. Of these, 7,792 were for wrong-lane driving/riding and 14,430 for parking violations. The traffic police towed 1,128 vehicles while 996 were impounded for violations even as FIRs were lodged in five cases during the fortnight, the data showed. The total penalty amount from challans during the campaign was Rs 4,91,600 (Rs 4.91 lakh), according to the official figures. Ekka Electronics to invest Rs 1,000 cr in 3 yrs to set up facility in Noida

Consumer electronics company Ekka Electronics on Wednesday said will investing Rs 1,000 crore to set up a factory in Noida, Uttar Pradesh and enter into the manufacturing of products such as washing machines, smart watches, hearables and TWS (true wireless stereo).
