Saudi Crown Prince hopes 'ceasefire' will restore calm between Pak, India

Saudi Arabia's Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman on Wednesday welcomed the "ceasefire" agreement between Pakistan and India, expressing hope that it will restore calm between the two neighbours. Prince Mohammed made the remarks while delivering a speech during a meeting of leaders from the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) and US President Donald Trump in the Saudi capital Riyadh. "We welcome the ceasefire agreement between Pakistan and India," he was quoted as saying by the state-owned Saudi Press Agency. The powerful prince hoped that this would "contribute to containing the escalation and restoring calm between the two countries." India carried out precision strikes under 'Operation Sindoor' on terror infrastructure early on May 7 in response to the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack that killed 26 people. Following the Indian action, Pakistan attempted to attack Indian military bases on May 8, 9 and 10. The Indian armed forces launched a fierce counter-attack on several Pakistani ...

India's trade relations with Turkey, Azerbaijan hit amid Pakistan conflict

India's trade relations with Turkey and Azerbaijan are expected to come under strain due to Ankara and Baku backing Islamabad and condemning India's recent strikes on terror camps in Pakistan. Following their support to Pakistan, calls for Turkish goods and tourism have surfaced across the country, with online travel platforms such as EaseMyTrip and Ixigo issuing advisories against visiting these nations. In fact, Indian traders too have started boycotting Turkish products such as apples and marble. India launched Operation Sindoor on May 7 to destroy nine terror infrastructures in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied-Kashmir in retaliation for the Kashmir's Pahalgam terror attack on April 22. All subsequent retaliations for Pakistani offensives were carried out under 'Operation Sindoor'. India and Pakistan on Saturday last announced reaching an understanding to stop all firings and military actions on land, air and sea, with effect from 5 pm that day. During the conflict, Pakistan u

India showed its capability, power during conflict with Pak: Jitendra Singh

India demonstrated its capability and power to the outside world in the recent four-day conflict with Pakistan, Union Minister Jitendra Singh said on Tuesday, crediting the development strides made during Prime Minister Narendra Modi's rule. Visiting areas in Kathua affected by Pakistani drone intrusions along the international border, Singh promised 600 family bunkers' for residents and a centralised, technology-driven siren system in the district. Will Modi govt conduct Kargil-style review over Pahalgam incident: Cong

The Congress on Tuesday said its repeated demands for a Prime Minister Narendra Modi-chaired all-party meeting and a special session of Parliament assume even greater urgency and importance in light of the statements from Washington DC. The opposition party also asked whether the Modi government will conduct an exercise similar to the Vajpayee government that set up the Kargil Review Committee on July 29, 1999, three days after the Kargil War ended. "Three days after the Kargil War ended, the Vajpayee Government set up the Kargil Review Committee on July 29 1999. Its report was tabled in Parliament on February 23, 2000 although sections of it have remained classified - as indeed they must," Congress general secretary in-charge Jairam Ramesh said in a post on X. The Committee was chaired by India's strategic affairs guru K. Subrahmanyam, whose son is now India's External Affairs Minister, he said.
