No proof that Trump campaign conspired with Russia: US attorney general

US Attorney General William Barr has said Special Counsel Robert Mueller did not find proof that Donald Trump or his campaign conspired with Russia to interfere in the 2016 presidential elections, following which the US president claimed "complete and total exoneration". In his four-page letter to the Congress on Sunday, which was later made public, Brar however said that "while this (Mueller's) report does not conclude that the president committed a crime, it also does not exonerate him" and sets out evidence on "both sides of the question". The investigation had cast a shadow over the Trump presidency for nearly two years with the Democratic leadership alleging that Russian interference helped him in the 2016 polls. MP: Congress leaders propose Jyotiraditya Scindia's wife's name for Gwalior seat

Gwalior Congress leaders have proposed the name of party leader Jyotiraditya Scindia's wife, Priyadarshini Raje Scindia, as a candidate from the Gwalior Lok Sabha seat."Our Congress leaders from Gwalior's urban and rural committees together have passed the proposal to field Priyadarshini Raje Scindia from Gwalior Lok Sabha seat," Madhya Pradesh Minister Lakhan Singh told media here.The proposal will now be sent to Congress president Rahul Gandhi for approval.Interestingly, Ashok Singh, who represented Congress from the Gwalior seat for three times in a row in past elections, was not present in the committee meeting here.In Madhya Pradesh, the elections will be held on April 29, May 6, 12 and 19.

Trump campaign did not coordinate with Russia in 2016: Justice Department

The Justice Department said Sunday that special counsel Robert Mueller's investigation did not find evidence that President Donald Trump's campaign "conspired or coordinated" with Russia to influence the 2016 presidential election. Mueller also investigated whether Trump obstructed justice but did not come to a definitive answer, Attorney General William Barr said in a letter to Congress summarising Mueller's report. Oman allows US military to use its ports

Oman on Sunday said it had signed an agreement with the United States that would allow American ships and warplanes to take advantage of ports and airports. The state-run Oman News Agency said the "framework agreement" was aimed at bolstering "Omani-American military relations" in a report on its English-language website. "It will allow the US forces to take advantage from the facilities offered at some of the Sultanate's ports and airports during visits of the US military vessels and aircrafts, particularly in the port of Duqm," it said. Duqm port is located in southern Oman on the Arabian Sea and around 500 kilometres (310 miles) from the Strait of Hormuz. BJD names candidates for nine assembly constituencies

The ruling Biju Janata Dal (BJD) in Odisha on Sunday announced the names of candidates for nine assembly constituencies for the upcoming elections. The names were declared by Chief Minister and BJD President Naveen Patnaik, six days after the party released the first list of candidates on March 18.
