Tech giant Intel has decided to set up their technology development centrehere, a Telangana government release said Friday. A top delegation headed by Intel India Country Head Nivruti Rai met Telangana Caretaker Minister for IT and Industries KT Rama Rao at his camp office, it said. In the meeting, Intel delegation and the Minister discussed about the Industrial policy of Telangana and the infrastructure available in the state We are very happy that Intel decided to start a tech centre in Hyderabad, Rao said. The Intel Indias proposed centre here will provide a major boost to the IT sector in the region and is expected to create 1,500 employment opportunities in its initial stages, it added. The state government and the Intel delegation had held several meetings which culminated in its decision. The delegation invited Rao to attend Intel Indias 20th anniversary scheduled on November 15, in Bengaluru, the release said.
The grievance cell of Jammu and Kashmir administration has disposed off 29,147 out of 29,999 complaints registered by it, officials said Friday. Since the imposition of Governor's Rule in the state, on June 20 till date, the grievance cell has received 29,999 complaints and grievances, of which 29,147 have been dealt with and forwarded to the quarters concerned for timely redressal. According to the officials, 476 complaints and grievances are under process. All the three advisors to the governor have been regularly meeting and hearing the grievances of delegations, deputations and individuals. The three advisors to the governor have attended and heard 2,007 delegations and 1,902 individuals from July 17, 2018 till date, the officials said. All the grievances received by the advisors have been dealt with and forwarded to the field officers and departments concerned for their immediate redressal and disposal, they added.
The CPI, a partner in the "grand alliance" of opposition parties for the December seven Assembly elections in Telangana, Friday expressed dissatisfaction on being given three seats by the Congress, describing it as "injustice." The alliance comprises the Congress, Telugu Desam Party, CPI and Telangana Jana Samiti (TJS). Congress Thursday said the party has decided to leave 25 seats -- 14 to Telugu Desam Party, eight to Telangana Jana Samiti (TJS) and three to CPI. "We (alliance partners) had discussed that an approach of give and take should be there (in the alliance). There should be respectable arrangements. What happpened now is against that. But, our political motive is to dislodge the KCR government in Telangana," CPI state secretary Chada Venkat Reddy told reporters. Noting that his party had asked for at least five seats, he said it is "injustice" (towards his party) to give only three seats. Prime Minister Narendra Modi Friday accused the Congress of backing "urban Maoists" and described the left-wing extremists as "monsters with evil mindset". Demonetisation was the biggest scam in the country after independence, Himachal Pradesh Congress chief Sukhvinder Sukhu alleged Friday. The Congress's state unit Thursday had observed black day on the second anniversary of demonetisation. On November 8, 2016, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had announced a ban on Rs 1,000 and Rs 500 denomination bank notes with immediate effect. BJP leaders converted their black money into white overnight after demonetisation was announced, he alleged at a public meeting in Kullu district. The ruling BJP has, however, defended the note ban exercise with Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley Thursday saying demonetisation resulted in formalisation of economy and increased tax base, with the government earmarking more resources for the poor and infrastructure development.
With four days left for Chhath Puja, Delhi Development Minister Gopal Rai Friday inspected a Yamuna ghat near ITO and took stock of preparatory works for the festival. Rai said the AAP government has made arrangements for Chhath Puja at 1,000 locations in city. The development minister, accompanied by senior officers of irrigation and flood control department, Delhi Jal Board (DJB) and revenue department, inspected Haathi Ghat at ITO in New Delhi. A government statement said there were only 60 ghats before the formation of the AAP government. It stated that 1,000 ghats are being set up along the banks of river Yamuna for Chhath Puja. Delhi has around 40 lakh 'Poorvanchali' voters, hailing from eastern Uttar Pradesh and Bihar, who play a key role in elections. Last year, the Aam Aadmi Party government had made a special financial provision in the 2017-18 Budget for setting up sufficient numbers of Chhath ghats across the city.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will pay a two-day visit to Singapore beginning November 14 to attend the East Asia Summit, an influential bloc which delves into political, security and trade related issues in the Asia-Pacific region. Making the announcement, External Affairs Ministry spokesperson Raveesh Kumar said Modi is also expected to participate in a number of other events during the visit. A high-level team of Election Commission (EC) officials would be arriving in Mizoram Friday to hold talks with top government officials and leaders of civil societies over the crisis that has rocked the poll arrangements in the state, official sources said. The team, led by Deputy Election Commissioner Sudeep Jain, would be visiting the state two days after Chief Electoral Officer S B Shashank was summoned to Delhi by the EC, following a massive agitation for his ouster by NGO Coordination Committee - a conglomerate of civil societies and student organisations.
