RailTel Q4 results: PAT rise 3% to Rs 77.5 cr, total income at Rs 852 cr

Railway PSU RailTel Corporation of India on Thursday reported a 3 per cent rise in profit after tax to Rs 77.53 crore for the January-March quarter of 2023-24 compared to Rs 75.24 crore in the same period of the previous year. The Mini Ratna company under the Railway Ministry reported a total income of Rs 852 crore for the last quarter of 2023-24 against Rs 707.29 crore in the year-ago period, according to an exchange filing. Sanjai Kumar, Chairman and Managing Director of RailTel, said, Operationally the company has been performing consistently with an impressive growth of 25% on QoQ basis in its operating revenue. For Financial year 2023-24 also the growth in Revenue and PAT has been quite encouraging at 31%. With healthy order book, the company has visibility of substantial growth in operating income in coming quarters, Kumar added. RailTel signs MoU with tech firm for KAVACH implementation projects

The railways on Wednesday inked an agreement with a tech firm for "exploring and delivering" train collision avoidance system KAVACH implementation projects in India as well as other countries, according to a statement. The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for this purpose was signed between RailTel Corporation of India Limited and Quadrant Future Tek Limited. In the statement, RailTel said the agreement with the tech firm is for "exploring and delivering KAVACH (train collision avoidance system) implementation projects in India as well as other countries". "The MoU lays out a framework for Quadrant to partner exclusively with RailTel on delivering the specific targeted opportunity related to KAVACH," it said. KAVACH is an indigenously developed automatic train protection (ATP) system of the Indian Railways. REC inks pact with RailTel to finance KAVACH, other infra projects

REC Limited signed an agreement with RailTel on Thursday to fund KAVACH Train Collision Prevention System along with many other infrastructure projects in the field of telecom, IT and rail signalling. "These projects encompass a wide range of areas, including Data Centre products and services, Telecom & IT products and services, Railways & Metro projects, and the KAVACH Train Collision Prevention System," a statement from RailTel said, adding, that it will fund up to Rs 30,000 crore over the next five years. According to RailTel, the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) also extends to the possibility of financing overseas ventures related to high-speed rail, metro, IT network, and the upgradation of railway network, as part of bilateral country discussions and infrastructure projects in Southeast Asia and Eastern Africa where RailTel is currently focusing. 3,600 man days invested in G20 Summit information technology infra: RailTel

RailTel, which was entrusted to provide uninterrupted telecom services and cyber security solutions for the G20 Summit, said more than 3,600 mandays were invested to come up with an information technology infrastructure of global standards for the two-day mega event. The IT solution provider under the railways ministry said the integrated telecom network at the 122-acre ITPO campus at Pragati Maidan, particularly at the newly inaugurated summit venue Bharat Mandapam, entailed a massive infrastructure with 1,675 indoor antennas, over 35 kms of radio frequency cable and 25 kms of fibre cables. The summit of the influential grouping was held on September 9 and 10. In a statement, RailTel said that "over 3,600 mandays were invested by RailTel and its partners to establish cutting-edge mobile network infrastructure and a neutral in-building telecom infrastructure...".
