Waaree Energies Ltd on Wednesday said it has partnered with NTPC to supply over 135 MW of solar PV modules. The photovoltaic modules will be utilized by NTPC for a solar power project in Baran district of Rajasthan. The order is expected to be completed within a span of 4 months, Waaree Energies said in a statement. "Such projects provide us with a splendid opportunity to further that objective, through the provision of our state-of-the-art solar PV modules, Hitesh Doshi, Chairman & Managing Director, Waaree Group said. With a capacity of 12 GW, Waaree Energies is India's largest solar module manufacturer. The company has presence in multiple locations in India and worldwide. NTPC, under Ministry of Power, is India's largest power generating entity.
Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot on Tuesday said the Congress will be contesting assembly elections on seven pre-poll promises announced by him for people of the state. He claimed that the BJP could not set an agenda for the elections this time and that the opposition party is grappling with infighting. Union Home Minister Amit Shah had a narrow escape on Tuesday when a 'rath' in which he was travelling came in contact with an electricity wire in Rajasthan's Nagaur. The incident occurred when Shah's cavalcade was moving to Parbatsar from Bidiyad village to address an election rally. While passing through a lane with shops and houses on both sides in Parbatsar, the upper portion of his 'rath' (specially designed vehicle) touched the power line which led to a spark and the subsequent snapping of the wire. A video of the incident also surfaced online. Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot said an inquiry into the incident will be conducted.
