Babar, Sarfraz propel Pakistan to 350-5 in second Test
Middle-order batsmen Babar Azam and Sarfraz Ahmed stroked half centuries to lift Pakistan to 350-5 at tea on the third day of the second Test against Australia in Abu Dhabi on Thursday. Azam was unbeaten on 90 for his seventh half century while Sarfraz was 60 not out for his 16th fifty as they took Pakistan's lead to 487 with five wickets intact. Premier League clubArsenalhave signed a new deal with German sportswear brand adidas. The sportswear brand will take over the sponsorship title from Puma, whose five-year contract with the North London club expires at the end of the season, a media release issued here said. Arsenal last wore adidas's three stripes between 1986 and 1994, during which they lifted two top-flight league titles. The three stripped adidas logo will don the Arsenal Football Club (Senior, Junior and women's team) jersey and training gear from July 2019, the release said.

ISL: Davinder Singh ruled out, Lourenco replaces him
Mumbai City FC defender Davinder Singh has suffered an injury due to which he will miss the remainder of the current Indian Super League season. The 23-year old suffered injury to his anterior cruciate ligament and will undergo surgery on his knee later this month. He will continue his rehabilitation with the club, a media statement issued by Mumbai City FC said Thursday. The young defender signed for The Islanders last season and was handed his debut in an away fixture against Kerala Blasters. He went on to make a total of 8 league appearances in the 2017-18 season and showed incredible promise, following which he signed a two-year extension to his contract with the club. The Islanders, meanwhile, have brought in 27-year old defender Joyner Lourenco who joins Mumbai City FC until the end of the season. The Goan full back will replace Davinder in Mumbai City FC's squad for the 2018-19 season of the ISL.

Nehwal, an Olympic bronze-medallist who has dropped to World No. 27, registered an easy 21-15, 21-17 win over second-seeded Yamaguchi in the pre-quarterfinal match that lasted just 36 minutes. Diana Edulji says "more opinions" to be taken in wives on tour matter
Member of Supreme Court-appointed Committee of Administrators, Diana Edulji, has said that they are yet to take decisions over allowing wives of cricketers to extend their stay during overseas tours.This comes after Indian cricket captain Virat Kohli put forth a request before the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) to allow wives of players to extend their stay on overseas tours.Edulji said that "more opinions will be taken" in the matter and it might "take some more time".Earlier this year, the BCCI had announced that wives and girlfriends of cricketers will be allowed to stay with their partners for a duration of two weeks while the team is touring overseas.India's next overseas tour will be to Australia where they are slated to play three T20I, a four-match Test series, and three one-day matches from November 21 to January 18.
