Two archery medals were still more than welcome for India after the disappointment in recurve category. It was a perfect start to the men's final from India as the team of Abhishek Verma, Rajat Chauhan and Aman Saini shot a maximum 60 to Korea's 56 in the opening set. The shooting standards dropped in second set with India scoring 54, including an 8, to the opponents' 58, levelling the final at 114-114. The third set went in India's favour 58-56, giving

Bolt struggling with football pace, but working hard

Sprint superstar Usain Bolt admitted Tuesday he was struggling with the tempo of professional football but is working hard to raise his fitness levels ahead of his first trial match this week. The eight-time Olympic champion has been given an opportunity by Australia's Central Coast Mariners to fulfil his dream of a soccer career and has stepped up his training regime since hooking up with the A-League club last week. He was put through his paces with the rest of the squad at a more intensive session at the team's base in the town of Gosford, 75 kilometres (47 miles) north of Sydney, on Tuesday. After some warming up and a jog around the pitch, he took part in ball drills and while his passing was fine, he was slow to get the hang of the movement required. Spurs run riot to pile more misery on Mourinho's Man Utd

Manchester United slumped to a second consecutive defeat on Monday to intensify the pressure on manager Jose Mourinho as Harry Kane and a Lucas Moura double moved Tottenham joint top of the Premier League with 3-0 win at Old Trafford. United now trail Spurs, Liverpool and Chelsea by six points and stand four adrift of champions Manchester City just three games into the new campaign. The odds on Mourinho losing his job have been slashed in recent weeks as he has clashed with the club's executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward over a lack of signings. Mourinho's anger at not being given the funds to boost his centre-back options was exacerbated by the poor showing of Eric Bailly and Victor Lindelof in a disastrous defensive showing at Brighton last weekend. Both paid for that performance by being dropped as Mourinho made six changes in all, although Alexis Sanchez was still left on the bench. After a week in which Mourinho's ability to turn the tide of negativity at Old Trafford was severely

But Williams broke her in the seventh game of the opening set to gain the upper hand and from there the American superstar rolled. The first set was tight," Williams, seeded 17th, said. "It was my first match back here in New York so that wasn't the easiest. "Once I got settled I started doing what I'm trying to do in practice. I think I'm getting there," added Williams, who reached the final at Wimbledon only to fall short of ...
