Most budding cricketers want to play in the Indian Premier League and Glenn McGrath has one advice for them -- "Work hard in red ball cricket and you will play IPL for a long time". McGrath is currently in Lahli, helping out the age-group bowlers from Haryana at their home ground. "Whenever I meet any young fast bowler who has played IPL, I ask him a question, 'Did you like playing IPL? They would say yes and I tell them that I love IPL too'. My next question is 'Do you want to go back to IPL next year? If yes, then you have to work hard during the rest of the months'," McGrath, who is the Director of MRF Pace Foundation, told PTI during an interaction. Senior team new ball bowlers Harshal Patel and former India speedster Mohit Sharma were also seen. While Harshal bowled a few deliveries under McGrath's watchful eyes, Mohit was seen doing some physical training. The Aussie pace legend said that he is impressed with the level of talent. "The quality of talent was pretty good. I saw all

They have gone down one-nil against the home team which will make it difficult for them."The 48-year-old, however, said that India have proved themselves in the past and that they are capable of putting up a good performance."Virat showed that he can still score runs there, while Ishant also took five wickets. So, India have to find a way for rest of the team to perform well. They have got the ability to create chances to bowl the team out. So, it is going to be a good challenge," he added.Reflecting on Indian skipper Virat Kohli's performance in the first Test, the former Australian bowler said that the he is a quality player and ...

The Olympic qualifiers event is approaching and that is more important than the Asian Games," Sharma told PTI. When pain subsided last week, Mirabai travelled to Mumbai to resume training and start mobility exercises. Vijay said the pain returned yesterday and he doesn't want to risk aggravating the injury. The World Championship, scheduled to be held in Ashgabat from November 1, will be the first Olympic qualifying event this year. "She is in constant touch with the ...
Australian pace legend Glenn McGrath feels Ishant Sharma needs to figure out his role in the Indian team, observing that he has been more of a workhorse than a strike bowler. Ishant had a good first Test against England, where he took seven wickets including a five-for in the second innings and the Aussie pace legend is happy that he is slowly adapting to conditions. "When Ishant started off, he took the world by storm bowling good pace. He is probably not bowling at the same pace. But he is much more experienced now with good control. The Edgbaston Test showed that Ishant has started adapting a bit more," McGrath told PTI on the sidelines of fast bowlers' camp organised by Haryana Cricket Association and MRF Pace Foundation. However, McGrath acknowledged the fact that playing on sub-continent tracks might have contributed to a not so impressive record of Ishant, who has taken 244 wickets in 83 Tests. "I guess a lot of pitches in India are tough to play on. Probably, he didn't bowl ...
