New Delhi [India], July 16 (ANI): In a bid to save water and improve efficiency in the cleaning of trains, the Northern Railways has started using 'Automatic Train Coach Washing System'.The first plant of this Automatic Train Coach Washing System is undergoing commissioning trials at New Delhi's Hazrat Nizamuddin station. The plant, set up at a cost of 1.6 crore, has water recycling and effluent treatment setups. It has a capacity of cleaning 250 coaches per day.This is the first time Northern Railways is going for automatic washing system even though the Konkan Railways has adopted the technology much before it.The high speed cleaning takes just 7 to 8 minutes to wash 24 coach rake compared to long time taken earlier. The plant has a capacity to work 24x7 with eight hour shift each. Officials said the new system takes only 240 litres per coach as compared to 1500 litres per coach through manual washing. Sri Lankan skipper Dinesh Chandimal has been banned for two Test matches and four one day internationals (ODI) by the independent Judicial Commissioner Michael Beloff QC.Along with Chandimal, Sri Lankan coach Chandika Hathrusinghe and manager Asanka Gurusinha have also been served the same amount of punishment for "conduct contrary to the spirit of the game" during the third day of team's second Test against West Indies, last month.The trio was convicted for breaching Level 3, Article 2.3.1 of International Cricket Council (ICC) code, and has been given eight suspension points and six demerit points each.The Chairman of the ICC Code of Conduct Commission had held a hearing over video conference on July 11 to determine the sanction. Five teenagers have drowned in a river in south-eastern Bangladesh when they went for swimming after a friendly football match, according to media reports. The boys, from the same school in Cox's Bazar district, played the friendly football match on Saturday. "Twenty two schoolboys played a friendly football match on Saturday after dividing themselves between supporters of the two South American teams," local police chief Bakhtiar Uddin Chowdhury said. After the match, six of them went for swimming in the Matamuhuri River. They were swept away by the strong current of the river, Chowdhury said. Their bodies were recovered on Saturday evening. A 20-member Under-19 boys football team representing Indo Europe Sports will participate in the Dana Cup, an invitational age group tournament touted to be the biggest in the world, scheduled to be held in Denmark from July 23-28. Indo Europe Sports and Promotion Council, a Delhi based organisation which works for grassroot football development, got the invitation from the organisers of the Dana Cup. Six players of the team are currently training in Germany. The team will play its first qualifying match against Volda TI FB of Norway on July 24. The Dana Cup is considered as one of the world's biggest football tournaments and it takes place every year in the town of Hjorring in Denmark in the last week of July. First held in 1982, the tournament is participated by more than 20,000 players every year in the age groups ranging from U-12 to U-19. Around 23,000 players are taking part in the tournament this year.
