Five GFG shooters in ISSF Junior World Cup
Olympic medallist Gagan Narang's Gun For Glory academies will see five of their shooters representing India in the ISSF Junior World, starting Friday in Suhl, Germany. The talented youngsters who have tuned themselves up for the event after rigorous training at their respective GFG academies include one in the junior men's category - Pruthiviraj Avachi in the 50m rifle prone junior men - while Elavenil Valarivan and Shreya Agrawal will compete in the 10m rifle individual and team event. Jabalpur's Mahima Agrawal will look to make her mark in the 10m pistol junior women category (individual). The GFG shooter in the 50m pistol category is Anushka Patil, who will be making her debut. Pakistan team's arrival for Kabaddi Masters Dubai was today delayed due to visa issues and they would now arrive here in the wee hours tomorrow ahead of its tournament opener against India. Tournament favourites India begin their campaign against the arch-rivals in the at the Al Wasl Sports Club 6.30pm local time, leaving Pakistan with little time for preparation. "There's a visa issue and we are told that they're either arriving late tonight or early morning tomorrow," a tournament official told PTI. Former India pacer Balwinder Singh Sandhu will be the latest entrant to the Cricket Improvement Committee of the Mumbai Cricket Association. Yesterday, another former India pacer Karsan Ghavri had confirmed that he too will be joining the CIC, which presently only has two members - Ajit Wadekar and Amol Muzumdar.
