Bangladesh retain Walsh as coach for Afghanistan series
Bangladesh have retained interim coach Courtney Walsh to oversee the national side in next month's Twenty20 international series against Afghanistan, the cricket board said today. Bangladesh have been without a head coach since Chandika Hathurusingha stepped down in October after three years at the helm. Walsh has been called on before, leading Bangladesh to the finals of a T20 tri-nations series in Sri Lanka in March which they narrowly lost to India. Afghanistan will host Bangladesh for the three-match T20 series in the Indian city of Dehradun from June 3 to 7. It will act as a warm-up for Afghanistan as they prepare for their first-ever Test against India in Bangalore from June 14. The Bangladesh Cricket Board recently appointed former South African batsman and coach Gary Kirsten as a consultant to find a coach before a tour of the West Indies starting in July. BCCI decides to wait and watch on pitch-fixing sting
The BCCI today reacted cautiously to a sting operation which alleged pitch doctoring in three Test matches featuring India, saying it would consider action against implicated former cricketer Robin Morris only if he is found guilty in an ongoing ICC probe. The sting has been carried out by Al Jazeera channel and the Test matches in question are India vs Sri Lanka (Galle, July 26-29, 2017), India vs Australia (Ranchi, March 16-20, 2017) and India vs England (Chennai, December 16-20, 2016). The first and third Tests mentioned were won by India while the Ranchi encounter ended in a draw. "We believe ICC has started its probe. Let them complete that and pronounce Morris guilty. The BCCI will only act when they have the verdict in hand," a senior office-bearer of the Board told PTI today. Salah injury 'serious', says Liverpool boss Klopp

Former Test captain Ramiz Raja says the smart watch controversy was unnecessarily created by media during the Pakistan and England Test match at Lords. ICC's Anti-Corruption officials rapped the Pakistan team for two of its players, Asad Shafiq and Babar Azam, wearing apple smart watches on the field on the first day of the match.
